The trunk area in my 2022 XLE doesn't have much lightning. Would be useful to have better lighting when unloading things at night. What do you use to get more light back there?

Did you turn the light on??
I pick up my van at 1 mile ..yes (one mile) and the light in the rear closest to the hatch is off.. all the rear vent were close... so take a look and just turn it on..

I echo statement above. Didn’t realize the trunk light was in off position for quite some time.

There is a light that need to check if on as per above but stock light no very bright.

Our winter beater from many many years ago has bigger and brighter trunk light.

Replace bulb with LED and be sure it’s switched to on. Size is 194 LED, IINM

Gen 3, same concept. Tapped the rear cargo cables and it comes on when the door is opened or via remote.

I also use this for my hood lights.

The OEM incandescent light bulb in the very back was quite dim; I replaced it (along with many other bulbs) with LEDs, which are much brighter. Later I discovered that the light had become visibly dimmer, and I saw it flicker as well. I pulled the assembly apart and found that the moving and stationary contacts inside the switch were partially oxidized (where they touched each other' surfaces). I cleaned those surfaces a little and the light has been OK since.

P.S. I sure hope that the rest of the electrical system is of a better quality, because this stuff WAS scary:

Those are nice. Just like the MIT stuff for gen 3, but they're expensive.

My route is cheap and easy to undo. And plenty of light, but not over doing it.
