I'm installing a new passenger side CV axle and noticed that the depression on the end of the new CV axle is much smaller than the old one here is a photo to compare. ( notice the old one is much shorter had to cut that sucker out )

I looked inside the transmission housing and it doesn't appear like anything inserts into that depression so I think it might be fine? Just asking before I go ahead with install.

That hole is probably just used to attach the axle to a machine while its being machined/manufactured.
