I have a 2019 sienna AWD (purchased new) that has been to its Toyota 5, 10 and 15K mile services and I was informed today at 15k that all 4 tires need replacing due to low tread on inside of each tire. Tires have been rotated at each service but no alignment/balance since it is not recommended until 15K.
Has anyone had an experience with such low miles and had any resolution from Toyota?
thanks!

That happened on my Supreme. Falken tires worn out at 13,000 mile. Prior off brand tires lasted 80,000 miles and post tires 50k and counting. You can imagine my pet name for those tires.

Yeah, I guess there is no recourse. I’m open to any suggestions on other run flat tires/brands people have had better success with as far as mileage- I’m certainly not going to put on another set of Bridgestone Turanzas. I still want to stick with run flats tho).
Thanks!

The oem tires are usually the best. The exact replacements don't last the same it seems.
This does not seem to be the case here.

The Bridgestone tires that Came on my 2009 lasted 40000 + easily. I even had to drive
20 miles on a flat and they came through as advertised.
Wearing the inside like you are saying has to be alignment plain and simple.
Something here is not adding up, you should not be needing new tires at 15000.

Run flat tires on Sienna AWD models have been a common complaint for many years. They are expensive to replace and wear out extremely quickly. This has been the case since 2004 when the Sienna AWD was first introduced.

Some owners opt to just use normal tires. The rims are designed to be used with normal tires as well. The only problem is you wouldn't have a spare. You can either carry a can of fix-a-flat and hope for the best or carry around a full sized spare in the trunk.

Shit. I got 20k out of my first set. The stealer service mgr said. Hey that is not that bad. I wasn’t expecting that and laughed. Was gonna buy another set, Buy 3 get one free from them. Then they slapped me with that load issue on those tires. Not sure what trade bulletin that was. Had something to do with the Tires being to tall for the gross load rating. They said I couldn’t put run flats back on. That they’d give me regular tires. Well, that wasn’t gonna work without a stupid spare. I went and bought the run flats again and then raised so much shit with the California HQ CEO. They Ended up cutting me a check for the entire cost of the tires and mount and balance job. Haha. screw them with all the crap they’ve done to almost all of us. Later.

The OEM tires are always more of a compromise for the manufacture than for the end-user. The manufacture can be swayed by massive deals that we are not privy to. Go to Tirerack.com and use their comparison tools. Compare the OEM tires with other run-flats. I remember the OEM tires were nearly the worst of the bunch. We went with quieter ones with a longer life. They are definitely quieter, can't judge the longevity yet.

Terrible longevity on our run flats! Seems every service trip, one more needed replacement, low sir pressure light popped on last month, pulled into discount tire for air check, belts showing throug, replaced fina with Michelin LTX truck tire, yearof excellent longevity from them, noticeably quieter, smooth ride, all win boxes checked, triple A membership renewed

I got my '18 XLE AWD used last year with about 29k miles on it. I am assuming they were the original tires. Tread depth was not too hateful, but like yours, were wearing a bit on the inside edge.

My previous van was an '05 LE AWD. Ran two sets of Michelin tires, getting 70-80k on each set. I replaced the run-flats on my '18 with another set of Michelins (Defender). I have not had the 'luxury' of a spare tire since I got my '05, back in May, 2010. So far, have not needed one. Have driven about 200,000 miles in those two vans and have not had any worries about a spare tire. Yeah, there has been the occasional low tire, but I saw it in time and aired the tire up so I could get it fixed.

One thing to help prevent the uneven wear is to add some air to the tires. I run them about 5 psi over the recommendation on the label and they do quite well.

Gen 2 Sienna owner here, and I am disgruntled over tires. I've owned my minivan since 2017, and I go through a set of Bridgestone Driveguard RFT's once a year. $1K mounted, balanced, and out the door. Every. Stinkin'. Year. They are rated for 60K miles, but I average only 21K per set, which coincidentally, is about what I drive per year.

I keep the air pressure topped-off and I bought the lifetime alignment at Firestone (an excellent investment, I've had close to a dozen in these 5 years). I keep them rotated every 5K miles or so. I've had to shim the rear axle to keep it in the green. The fronts are in the green with no modifications. I've replaced the wheel bearings, struts, and links. Tie Rods and Ball Joints are still good. And yet, the tires wear unevenly. I can't explain it.

The tires wear excessively on the inner edge to the point that the belts show with 4/32" left across the surface. Although the rears are screwed (they're at -1.8° camber with maximum positive shimming), I am considering shifting the front camber. They're at -0.8° camber. I can replace the strut bolts (Toyota #90105-17009 in the upper and #90105-17011 in the lower) to bring the camber to +0.2°, which is still within the acceptable range, but am uneasy about that. Any opinions?

Two suggestions here.
1. Since the outer edges are wearing out first, add about 4-5 psi over the recommended amount. Yeah, you will hear a little more 'slap' when going over tar strips and expansion joints, but I have never noticed a difference in overall ride quality.
2. Get rid of the run-flats. I run Michelin Defenders. Same $1000, but will last you at least 3 or 4 years. Oh, and I don't worry about carrying a spare, either.
