How easy is it to replace that black rubber antenna seal to the car??The Toyota OEM Part Number is 86392AE010. It is described as a MTG Insulator...I suppose MTG stands for Mounting. Cost was $21.78 at my local Toyota Parts department.<br>
I am experiencing the same issue. Sun destroyed my 2006 Sienna "antenna ornament" (the rubber seal). The old seal has completely broken away and is gone. I removed the antenna itself. The new rubber won't fit over the silver "crown nut" but when I tried to remove the crown nut (by hand) it won't budge. Do I dare use pliers? I don't want to break anything. But, I also can't see what good it will do to remove the crown bolt - does the crown bolt belong on top of the rubber seal or underneath? I pulled up the assembly diagram for the 2006 Sienna antenna and that still doesn't seem to help. I've tried wiggling the new rubber seal into place, but it will only go so far and gets stuck. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!Shouldn't be that difficult. Just don't let go of the 32" part of the antenna, so that it does't fall through the fender.
Loosen the nut on the top, slide the parts off the assy., reverse procedure with new part.
Great post. Exactly as you said. Just a few minutes and a nice repair. ThanksSuper easy. All you have to do is unscrew the antenna, slip the rubber piece on, and screw the antenna back on. The rubber piece fits on the metal part so you can see the top of the metal in the hole. Then you just push the edges into the car frame. It took two minutes at most to do this.
