Our 2006 LE has developed an annoying squeak in the brake pedal linkage. The noise occurs when braking force is released. Have others had this same noise? I imagine that lubricating such connections might be considered a normal maintenance task. If so, what type of lube would be effective without tending to create a mess?

FWIW, I'm a newbie member and did at least attempt a couple searches and browsing prior to asking this question. If the topic has been covered, please kindly point me in that direction.

Try WD-40.. Just put some newspaper or paper towels under the pedal to catch the dripping fluid and prevent it from making a mess on the carpet or floor mat.
