Apparently (but l am not sure of this), the only suspension differences between the woodland trim and the other gen4 siennas are slightly longer springs?

So, regarding the XSE and other gen4 siennas, anyone know what the suspension part differences are that provide the more taut ride of the XSE?

I believe the XSE actually uses a whole different steering rack and ECU that is sport tuned.

So only a different steering rack? But the suspension is otherwise identical front and rear?

With the ECU, you mean the engine power? But yet the XSE has the same rated horsepower and mpg as all the other trims? That seems super counterintuitive. Well, unless the ECU just revs the engine more to make it sound more sporty?

No the suspension is different too. The electronic power steering has an ECU built in that is programmed with the sport settings. I know because I was looking into swapping in the EPS ECU and I don't think that is possible without swapping in a whole rack from the XSE.

In others words, get the XSE! Unless you plan on doing off-road stuff or you just like really cushy handling.

Right but how exactly is the suspension different?? Yes, getting the XSE makes sense, but l think that having 2 big fake ducts that harm aerodynamics (and go nowhere) seems really goofy.

LOL it's quite surprising that NONE of the reviews on the Gen4 ever showed this! I was like 90% sure this was the only way it would fit, but it's sure sketchy that no one ever tried it, even the "independent" reviewers.
lol, if you take those mid row seats out, a 4x8 sheet fits fine without decapitating the driver. its a shame that the mid row seats don't come out, but its understandable because they have airbags in the seats for the rear row passengers. don't want to have an errant static discharge fire a bomb off when someone is trying to put a seat in, and then proceed to launch the seat and the person across their garage, yard, or worse. It was planned, at some point, because if you do remove the mid row seats, the seat belt indicators on the infotainment screen for the mid row seats don't light up, like it knows they aren't there, so its not gonna look for weight in them. im sure the rear row is the same, so you are just left with fooling the airbag system with a simple 2.5ohm resistor.

I think one of the reasons the middle row were not designed to be removed is that I think the original plan was for a fridge to be jutting out from the center console into the middle row, so removing the seats wouldn't have made a difference to the ability to load in an 8x4 anyways... too bad ShopVac when bankrupt when it did. I was really looking forward to the novelty of the built in fridge.

My thought was because of the super long slides and the airbags had to follow the chair. Liability with disconnecting airbags and reinstalling them.
Yes, that is for sure the main reason, but I there were likely a series of reasons that led to Toyota deciding that non-removable seats was the right call, instead of trying to engineer something else.... I only wish that the mid row seats backs would fold forward and flat, so that you could create your own flat floor with the rear row similarly folded.
