Hello folks,

Some of you may have a similar situation, and please help (y)
  • My 2022 XSE FWD comes with Michelin tires with "B" traction rating. This low rating caught my attention on day 1.
  • As fall/winter approaches, my wife (main driver) often slips the front tires when accelerating at green lights on wet roads (Seattle, mostly mild & wet).
  • This is our 1st winter in the Sienna, and our previous minivan didn't do this (2012 Odyssey with Michelin tires too). So, I can't objectively say it's the car or the tires
  • I hope to increase the traction rating to "AA" on all-season tires, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 all-season may be my only bet. The closest tire size is 255/45/20. It's 0.7% smaller than stock. I expect more traction from 1) the add'l 20mm width and 2) higher traction rating, while suffering MPG loss. I had positive experience with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 from my other cars.
  • My wheels are 20X8.5, offset 40 (Enkei Tuning TSR-X )
Please help:
  • Will the 255 tires rub the fender or suspension parts?
  • Did I miss something? (watch my blind spot, please)

Thank you so much, :giggle:

The load rating is 1521 lbs. The weight at the front axels are 2540lbs with fluids. These wheels allow 500lbCalc? Driver and passenger. On the rear, the car weighs 2180lbs for AWD, which allows 860lbs of load. Please keep in mind that, the vehicle weight numvers also includes the rims. Maybe I should subtract that front the calc?

By the way, tirerack lists these rims under 2019 Lexus RX, which weighs up to 4900 lbs. I hope made the right decision here 😁
