I figure that if was initialized at 46 psi then it should alarm at a higher pressure than it it were initialized at the correct pressure. When I go to the dealer I will tell them that they screwed up checking the pressure and I want them to reinitialize it.

I suppose all tires come ready-to-install as part of the assembly. They must come same for all of us at 46PSI that probably only Toyota knows why. Dealers are supposed to fix it as part of PDS. Mine had all 3 PDS steps that I am aware of NOT done (4 under body plugs, two front plastic liners/tabs to the front of both wheels, and one more I can't recall.). If we count adjusting tire pressure, that would be 4.

Any idea what these are? They were in the back of my Limited. The salesman didn't know what they were and said he thought he should leave them with the car. (In NJ we have front license plates and I have those plastic brackets as well)

On Next drive the numbers showed up on the display, so hopefully they are re-initiallized at 36 like they were supposed to be.
TIL you can swap the MPG displayed on the dashboard between average tank MPG (reset after refueling), average trip MPG (reset when the car turns on), and average overall MPG (reset manually through holding "OK" with the MPG displayed, or on the infotainment screen under the History app.

From MID >> Vehicle Settings >> Leaf icon >> Fuel Economy >> Choose Trip, Tank, or Total
Yeah, Vanfam is right on. Just for context, on you dashboard display, tab over to the setting column (cog), then arrow down to vehicle settings, hold enter, then it's pretty straightforward from there.
I keep it on tank average. There is an option for the MID to display a summary of your trip in the display everytime you turn the car off, so I use that trip summary to get my "trip" details which shows time elapsed, miles driven, and mpg for the trip. This way I get both pieces of information without digging thru menus. Lifetime mpg is meaningless for me since I just go tank by tank each time.
By the way, the trip summary is not shown if you shut the car off with your foot still on the brake. I have to keep remembering to lift my foot from the brake before shutting off the car. Otherwise, the instruction about holding the brake pedal down to start the car takes precedence over the trip summary.
This works for me.... except when the back doors have been opened, in which case the "Check Backseat" warning shows up instead of the trip summary. Instead, I've set the MID to show the trip MPG, and I update the History MPG on the infotainment screen after each fill up, that way the current History is always the tank MPG. For me, it's more reliable, 'cuz we very often have kiddos clambering in and out of those backseats preventing us from seeing the trip summary.
You cna disable the "check backseat warning" I believe! I don't ever see it and I think I remember actually disabling it.
That said, I will admit sometimes the picture of the van indicating which doors are open will take over the MID and prevent seeing the trip details, depending on how quickly the doors are opened before you power the car off. So your solution may be better regardless.
Yeah, I toyed with the idea of getting rid of the backseat warning, but decided if one time out of a hundred it helped, it would still be worthwhile.
Also thought about the open door display, which contributed to my choice as well.
Ultimately it's a simple preference, easy to justify either way, but that is my thought process, in any case.

This is super helpful. I've only seen the trip summary once and didn't understand why. Sounds like there are a lot of things that prevent it from showing up:
1. foot on the brake
2. side doors have been opened (when?)

Can in park, foot off brake apparently, and press the start button to turn the van off before any doors are opened. As soon as a door is open you get the graphic that overrides the trip summary.
Exactly this. The only other reason the trip summary won't show is if the "Check Backseat" warning turns on. Unless it is disabled, the warning will display when the car turns off if either of the sliding doors was opened within ten minutes of the car starting, or at any point after that.
You can disable the warning on the settings tab on the MID, I believe.

This is actually one of the things that frustrates me about the van. I’d like to be able to see that level of trip stat data without having to shut the van off and grab a photo before it disappears.

My next little short trip it started reading again. So I should be good to go......not sure the timeframe or miles in my case but it was in 2 different trips and I thought I would have to start again.
