Toyota Sienna 2021 Platinum.....3rd row seats

Hi All,
I am new to this forum and appreciate all the insight from all the members. We just drove home our new Sienna with the 3rd row seats stowed. We hit a few speed bumps and the stowed seats bounced up a little! Kind of surprising since we thought they would lock in place when stowed. Is there a way to lock them in place when stowed?

There's no lock I'm aware of but we've ordered the tri-fold cargo liner which I suspect will help keep everything down. I suspect that in the interest of maximizing space and seat comfort they've made it such that the seat cushioning is actually slightly compressed when they're stowed. A little bit of cargo weight keeps them down but left on their own I've noticed they do stick up a bit. It's also a matter of balancing the mechanism that brings them out of the stowed position -- the salesman made a big deal of showing us how you could open it up with one finger (cause I need to do that all the time!) :) Congrats on your new purchase and welcome!
Thanks for the welcome and the info. Do you know if the Tri-fold liner fits in vans that have a spare tire? I thought I read that it won't fit but from some of the pictures it looks like it should fit since the spare is built into the side wall. Thanks again for the info above.

My Limited AWD has the spare tire so I hope so! I haven't received it yet (just got the van a few days ago) but I'll confirm back once I receive the cargo mat. But from the looks of the picture I've seen I'm confident it will fit.

Please post when you get them installed. The online configurator will not do spare tire and tri-fold..
Does your Limited AWD come with a full sized spare, and is there storage for it on the side?
Do you have a link to a photo of the tri-fold cargo liner?
Thanks.

Not sure who you're responding to but if to me . . . as far as I know no 2021 Toyota Siennas come with full-size spares. My Limited AWD came with a donut spare stored in the driver's side rear compartment. I ordered the tri-fold cargo mat which looks to me like it will fit a van with the spare. I'm due to receive it today and will post pictures.

Exactly what I was asking about, JBS. I have an XLE on order, and wondered if a donut was OK as a spare for AWD, especially in winter when the summer run-flats aren’t in use. For some reason the spare‘s not offered in XLE AWD, but I wonder if I could get the interior molding for the spare tire storage to install myself.

I would like to see the tri-fold cover once you get it, thanks. Sounds like a good thing to have.

You mention summer run-flats. Just to be clear, as far as I know (and it's been discussed widely on these boards) there are NO runflats on any models of 2021 Sienna. The lack of a spare is not because of run-flats, it's because they include a can of flat fixer.

I was told by a local dealer who didn't have a model available with a spare that you could retrofit a spare into it but for $1200. That said this is the same dealer who insisted they were runflats so I'm not vouching for his knowledge. Everything else that I heard indicated that the spare needed to be configured at the factory.

I was under the impression that the spare could be configured on any model but I never tried on the XLE AWD. I assume you mean in the factory configurator, as opposed to it just not being available in stock where you've looked?

Don’t mean to hijack your thread about the tri-fold cargo mat, but thanks for the info about the tires.
Here in Canada we don’t get a configurator, just a few packages.

Actually, I hijacked RandyB's thread about 3rd row seats so . . . :)

I should also mention I've no idea whether the tire offerings differ by country so it's possible that RFT are an option in Canada even though they're not in the US.

Did you get that info from Toyota Canada about the spare? Or going by the website? Reason I ask is I ordered an XLE AWD with Spare over here in NL. That was back in early December. I guess I'll find out when it arrives if it's there or not, but I wasn't told I couldn't have it so who knows
I was told it wasn’t an option on XLE AWD. Doesn’t hurt to ask again I guess, but the salesman seems to know less than forum members here do.
FYI I posted a bunch of pictures of the cargo tray and the tri-fold cargo liner in a new thread here. The spare tire was definitely not a problem for either one, they fit perfectly!
