My Wix filter arrived today. The pan gasket is some sort of plastic or possibly hard rubber. I am assuming any type of sealant to hold it in place during install is a No No. What you say?

A little bead probably wouldn't hurt. Keep it small if you must. I didn't when I changed mine.
I worry about a stray chunk getting into the valve body which is why I won't use it on a trans pan.

I think I'm gonna be able to get it with out. I meant just a little dot here & there to keep the gasket in place during install but looks like it will lay flat enough without.
Just a brain fart.
