hello...i bought the van back in 2011 brand new...i've done all the maintenance myself, but i have never changed out my tranny fluid...i was trying to see if anyone would recommend a tranny fluid change at this high millage?

The common wisdom is if the color is still red ish it's ok to change the fluid completely. If it's black, your too late, clean fluid might hasten the inevitable. I completely changed mine at 170k over a year ago with good results.

With a cold transmission and the vehicle level, cycle through the gears put the trans in park and then pull the drain plug on the transmission pan to take a sample of the fluid. When you have your sample put the plug back in and tighten it down. This will let you see what condition the fluid is in and then you can decide what to do from there.

A simple drain and fill will not hurt the transmission. Take a look at YouTube for video on how to change the fluid. I would stick with OEM fluid.
