No, they won't. Manual gear selection on these automatics isn't like a manual transmission. It will only shift into the requested gear if the speed of the vehicle is within bounds set to protect the engine and transmission. If you are sitting still and select gears 4-6, it will not shift to them, it'll stay in 1st. Similarly, if you are driving and select a very low gear, it won't shift to that until you slow sufficiently, to avoid redlining the engine.
