I got to work just fine but after putting my van in park, turning off my engine and releasing the brake pedal, my van started rolling backwards. I was on a slight slant which has never been a problem.

After getting assistance to push my van back in the parking stall, I noticed when turning the key that all the lights would go on, including radio and air conditioner, but the engine wouldn't start. Same problem, van would roll backwards

Anyone know what the issue might be and what the fix entails?

My 2010 has a pending factory recall on it for the trans popping out of Park while parked, but I haven't taken it in for it yet. I'm not sure which years are included in the recall, but you might want to seach a bit to see if yours is also covered by it.

Possibly a problem with the cable attachment at the shift lever.

Sounds like something broke in the upper shifter lever. Someone else posted about it not long ago and posted pics. I tried to find the post...

When my shifter cable broke the shifter was much easier to go side to side. Sounds like the cable broke when it was in neutral (on the way to park).
