I just checked inventory. XSE FWD non tech. I really like the red colour though.I think Stouffville Toyota may have an available red XSE 2022
Good for you! Enjoy it!I went into my local Toyota dealership on October 15, 2021 (Penticton, BC) and they happened to have one 2022 Sienna XSE FWD in stock, so purchased it right away, should i consider myself lucky?
Yeah. I ordered in June. So it's been quite a wait. But AWD is must for me.Thanks for sharing this. Not completely surprised with this given Toyota is also impacted by the chip shortage, global supply chain hurdle, and other challenges. Guess I will have to patiently wait for mine (XSE + AWD + Tech) to arrive.
That theory makes sense. When you think about it, it actually makes a lot of sense for them to discontinue XLE AWD. Based on the speculation from your dealership, if they don't have enough parts to build AWD vehicles, then they're basically forcing those who want AWD to upgrade and therefore spend more money. It's a win-win because they can earn more money, and reduce the wait time for these models, and not tie up their parts for lower end models. I've read an article where I think the big 3 domestics (or at least Dodge is..) moving forward with a similar tactic.
It's true. My dealer isn't even bothering giving me a date. They just said call me when they find out what next month's allotment is. Then we can decide if you want anything that's coming in. I ordered at the beginning of June BTW.I put our order on the last week of Sep 2021, which should be the 26th. The salesman, which I mentioned, we sometimes fishing together as friends, told me every ETA now is basically bullshit. Nobody really knows, but next March or April seems more reliable for now. We are in NS.
Lol. That's totally untrue.Edit - Ignore what I said below. My bad.
IIRC, Fog lights are mandatory in Canada so all trims come with it. I remember reading it here somewhere earlier.
Do what some have already done on the site. get 20s for the summer. use the 18s for winter. For well over $50k I'm getting cheap plastic covers instead of the rims? Really, Toyota? Now I'm on the fence about what to do:
1. Leave it as is (cost - $0).
2. To use the Plastidip (or another product, but can't find on amazon) - under $50.
3. Skip the whole 18" fiasco and get 20" ones. Sell OEM and buy rims and tires. It will cost way over the grand.
Good point.I was thinking to get nice 20' rims. But the accountant inside of me was very unhappy. Let's do the math: rims - starting from $1,500, rubber - at least $300 per wheel, thus $1,200 in total, plus TPMS sensors - another $300. $400 for HST plus installation of the rubber on the rims - another $150. All in all, it totals at $3,500 and change. The most optimistic price to sell OEM rims and rubber is $1,000. Thus, I'm on the hook for $2.5k.
I'm leaning towards to rip the plastic caps off and either to "Hyperdip" (name of the product) either to powder coat the rims. For sure, those OEMs are not something to write home about, but not that bad (with plastic off):
Oh ok. that makes sense then. don't spend that money. You might be able to find a used 5x114.3 18" set from a RAV4, Venza or Camry.Your situation is different. You have another vehicle to place your 18" tires on. Not my case.
Which 20' rims did you choose?
From $$$ perspective, $2.5k out of pocket is a bit too much in my mind. I'll spare that cash for something else.
For the winner tires - last year I bought the 17" set for my current Sienna. During the course of last winter, I put 2k km only on them. Thus, I decided to get good 17" rims recently. I'll put them on this Thursday and once I'll get a new Sienna, I'll flip them there. Thus, I'm stuck with 18" for summer... That's sux, but it is what it is. Once these 18' tires will be done, I'll think about what to do next.
And yes - steelies are starting to rust the moment you left the shop. No way around that. Looks ugly (disgusting I would say) the very first winter. Not using them now and have no plans in that regard..
Oh I see where the variation is... you included the fees.Yes, reduced MSRP was for the 2021 model.
The dealer is right though. ETAs are not good because it's hard to know with everything going on. For all we know, we could be heading straight back into another lockdown or part vendors start getting shutdown due to outbreaks.I received a call from the dealership today. Update: No update. Toyota Canada told them to reiterate what is already known: ETA's are uncertain but likely to be delayed. Holding out hope for April - May 2022 for my Black AWD XSE w/ Tech, which was ordered this month.
It attracts potential customers. It happened to me to a dealer a couple hours away from me. They listed a sienna. I called them and they said "oh, we don't actually have that, but we do have this one coming in. Can I get your name and phone number?"That begs the question why they would bother posting it on their website if it's already spoken for...
You mean January allocation. They won't know until December 20, 21, 22 sometime around then.DOes some1 know if December allocation is out? My dealer keeps telling me "not yet". I guess they are playing games...
Same order timeframe for me too. Xse awd tech. You're like many others who are still waiting.Ordered my XSE AWD no tech at the beginning of June, was quoted 4-6 months. 6 months is up, and still nothing so I just called the sales guy today. He could not give me a more accurate time frame, and wasn't willing to make any promises for that matter. Toyota Canada has also told his dealership that BC will also be receiving less allocation in 2022 compared to 2021... I hope I won't have to wait a total of 12months or more before getting it.
