That begs the question why they would bother posting it on their website if it's already spoken for...
Not sure if any local laws compel them however even if reserved the purchaser could cancel and so good to know what actual on lot inventory going to be like.

We got within few weeks of signing bill of sale because purchaser cancelled. Again we bought base LE FWD so that played a part as well.

I went to one local Toyota dealer in early November and was told to pay MSRP or go away basically, even when I told them delivery wasn't an issue for me and I'd happily wait. They insisted that MSRP was a deal, as many were charging above and beyond, and if I went with their 2022 AWD XSE they had a Silver one coming in late Jan that I could 'reserve' if I signed immediately. I told them they were misreading the situation because I have a perfectly fine Honda and I'm not in a rush, I just want to place the order and wait. They told me no one would sell for under MSRP in this market.

I decided to shop around and later the same day placed my order with a different Hamilton Toyota dealer for a discount off MSRP (just over $1500 off the MSRP for a 2022 FWD XSE). I was told NO PROMISES but likely I'd get the vehicle in March 2022.

Got a message on December 21st that the vehicle would be ready to pickup Jan 3rd 2022.

So I got my colour of choice (white), got my discount, and will get the van earlier than I could have 'reserved'. I would be very skeptical of dealers trying to pressure you. I believe supply is slowly returning to normal, and the 6 month waits are largely behind us (I'm sure there are some people waiting 6 months who disagree, but I can only speak to my own experience).

Hamilton Man
Yaaayyy... another FWD in Canada!!

Dealer was able to deliver my Sienna on Christmas Eve.

Ordered xse awd white tech in Ontario back in May 24, which is exactly a 7 month wait. And obviously, this is a 2022 with an extra $360 on the bill.

Doesn't hurt to ask the dealer to compensate the wait by asking for accessories.:)
Ho Ho Ho.

Was gift wrapping included or extra dealer charge?

Nope, I actually visited another dealership and tried, but they didn't allow me to put another order, even use my wife's name(as we are in the same household). The truth behind this is they are worrying if I want to put an order and sell the car to China. So they have stated if I want to do so, I have to cancel my first order and start from the end of the line. So meaningless to do that. All the dealers here in NS belong to the same region distributor from what I heard. Or maybe I have been fooled.
Yeah, unfortunate that some people/dealerships sell outside their sales region.

Hope get soon :)

From what I was told, Toyota is building FWD because that's what they have parts to. Also demand is not nearly as high for FWD. You're highly unlikely to walk into a Toyota dealership and ask if they have any AWD models that aren't sold. I think everywhere has high demand for AWD. IMO given the choice, I think every Canadian Sienna buyer would choose AWD. But it depends if you can wait for one to come in.
We actually had choice between FWD and AWD and chose FWD.

The marketing behind AWD is tremendous... sell higher priced vehicles.

Most urban Canadian drivers [like > 90%] would be fine with FWD and good all weather or winters. If live in country or have unpaved/unplowed roads then perhaps AWD but then is a minivan really the best choice?

Until recent move to SUVs most vehicles sold were sedans [and minivans popular as well] that had FWD. The AWD on many vehicles is not even full time and helps you to go but turning and stopping relies on tires.

Bluetroll is correct. IMO, if you are in Canada, you must have at least one car that is both AWD with winter tires.
SUVs are good too, arguably SUVs have better wheel clearance. But that doesn't get you out of sticky situations like an AWD would - as per bluetroll.
You might have more than enough space to get over the hump of snow, but what good is that if your car won't even move.

I too, have owned RWD, FWD, and AWD. The reason for me going for AWD XSE is the exact same reason as bluetroll. The fuel economy on the hybrid makes it a no-brainer. Why wouldn't you go for AWD. It's something that it's better to have than not have (albeit part-time).

I'm really glad more and more people are chiming in. I thought I was crazy. The reason I've been paying more attention to this lately is because I've been seeing more and more new Siennas on the road. I'm guessing the lucky owners that are driving one now must've placed their orders way back when the vehicle was first released. I also noticed that a lot of those that are still waiting, placed their order in June 2021 and onwards (July, August, etc.).
* Off Topic *

We are all entitled to our opinions, imho it is marketing hype has many people jumping on AWD bandwagon.

Discussing this with my dad and his response was that he grew up with RWD and then FWD in snow belt part of Canada.

With proper tires and proper driving he's never needed AWD and neither have I. For us this makes sense as we drive in urban areas. The number of people I have see skid off the road with AWD is staggering.

For country dwellers or poor snow clearing areas AWD is an option.

We will agree to disagree that need at least one AWD vehice in Canada.

Now back to thread and wow... Really glad was able to get our LE FWD in matter of weeks... more luck then anything I did but such is vehicle buying nowadays.

I agree that it's a common sales tactic, but he may actually be correct. I highly doubt anyone who ordered a Sienna in 2022 is getting a Sienna in 2022 - they still haven't filled orders from the last 6 months of 2021 and don't seem to be able to provide realistic updates on anything!

I'm sure that there may be some exceptions to that, or a few cancellations/etc, but by and large it seems like Toyota is completely unable to produce the volume of vehicles they're getting orders for (which still seems nuts for a company like Toyota - but what can they do when they can't get the components they need?).
Do wonder if they are allocating more parts to RAV4 and other more volume vehicles which puts further strain on Sienna inventory.
Although from what I have read the trend is better supply system although there will be few bumps along the way.

Same here, what’s the best way to clean them
Have yet to clean but think just remove all and then just hose/power wash perhaps some soap. Nothing too harsh as do not want to ruin them. And then let underlying carpet breathe for a few days before putting regular carpet mats.

Were your rubber mats installed by dealership for you when went to pick up van, presuming you got in colder months?

Got the call today. Dealership has received delivery notice. Black XSE AWD w/ tech ordered in December. Van should be here on Wednesday and I should be able to pick it up Saturday. Never thought I would be so excited to take possession of a minivan. My first brand new car ever!
That's about 3 months so very good for Canada deliveries.

Remember to drive gently for first 1k kms and enjoy the great mileage.

Well after 4 months |I finally picked up our XSE in black. Looks very sharp with those matching black rims. Drove it home in a snowstorm so the shiny look didn't last ::) It is definitely quieter than my Oddessy, and sitting the front feels like an SUV, since your riding high up. After 250km with mixed driving, the needle is till on FULL ! Range suggest 950km on a 68l tank..
One surprise is that the heated steeringwheel is only on the sides, and not the top or bottom of the wheel. Did Toyota skimp out? Those wheels are huge making the van look badass.
I tried out the auto highbeam and they come on even in a well lit neighborhood. My other car the auto hibeams only come on when its a dark road. There's a button to turn it off which seems necessary because basically the van would run hi beams allt the time until it see's another car. Not sure if there's a sensitivity adjustment for that, not not very good compared to my other car. On day 2, I sat in the middle seat and noticed a strong vibration that I didn't feel in the drivers seat. I think one of the real wheels might be out of balance. Very happy with the look inside and out. Not impressed with the mobile app and it's only 1 year free. Fords software is better and its for the life of the car, no subscription.
After several months best I've seen range wise DTE is 890 kms so hopefully can get that to 1,000 kms in summer.

There have been reports and we've experienced ourselves that fuel needle can at times not move in conjunction with fuel usage.

More of potential gas issue when driven over 750 kms or so... just something to be mindful of.

Enjoy the mileage!!

I feel like the dealers aren't being honest with the queue/allocation. They probably fill the orders that have extended warranties and add-ons earlier then those with basic orders. I asked a few times how many customers are in front of me with same orders and got the "il check and call you back" lines. I didn't mind waiting. But any longer then 6 months, I'd be getting annoyed. They estimated 3-4 mths wait.
Cold call/email or walk into nearby dealerships and see what they have available or coming in.

People are cancelling orders so just got it time it right. Do have to be open to getting a different trim or colour.
