Which dealer?

I'm going to wait a few more months, if no movement, likely move towards the Honda Minivan.
Same boat here.

I am not too kicked about getting a car in the middle of winter anyway. So going to take a break from this car madness till maybe March next year and if nothing pans out get a Honda.. their black editions (top tier) seems to have few takers and easily available.. of course Sienna is a first option, but with zero MSRP adjustments.

What can I look at. I looked at the kia but didnt love it. Also the honda I guess but their waitlist is long as well. Is this just a toyota issue or if I put down a deposit at honda I will wait 2 years as well?
My experience is this: Kia carnivals are really tough to come by in the GTA at MSRP. They are available, but they charge 5 to 7k more. LX model with MSRP of 35~ is being sold at 42-43k. (No heated seats lol). You'll get one in far off locations, like Ottawa. I didn't pursue because I wasn't in a rush. I'll be checking post winter.

Pacifica hybrid is a dream to drive. But I saw videos online of stalling in the middle of the highway and I am not putting my kids in that car.

Odyssey, you'll easily get one of the higher trims, limited or black edition. No market adjustments. Just MSRP. Ex and ex-l, you can forget about it. You won't get one. They're the best value trims. Good luck!

Go for it! I'm sure you will be glad you did because this particular model inherited some very nice features from the Limited version. I'm waiting for AE25 myself that I ordered on the 7th of October officially and dealership tells me that it is in PRODUCTION. I'll know more about it once I go there this coming Friday. Looks like I might get mine around the time you'll get yours. I have another deposit at another dealership dating back from September for XSE AWD Tech but all I received from them was that they've submitted it to Toyota Canada. Once I get my 25th anniversary, I'll cancel my reservation at that other dealership and get my refund. Good luck and do come back and show us the prize!
You ordered it just a month ago and it's already in production?? Can you tell me which dealership?

Chomedey Toyota in Laval QC. When I dropped by, he said I was the first person who ordered the 25th anniversary from the dealership and advised to order a color most people would not choose first and I went with Windchill Pearl instead of silver. He did tell me that it could be up to 2 years wait so you can imagine my surprise when I received the email last week stating that it was in production!
Good for you!

Is there any honest Toyota dealer out there .Is there a way to complaint to Toyota as these dealers are taking us for a ride .Another dealership I spoke to yesterday said they will bump me up the line if I have a trade in .Price offered verbally approx 10 k less than what I can sell myself for a 2018 Sienna. So clearly looking to make about 15 k per sale .My current deal signed is at MSRP with no add ons so they do not want to give me the vehicle .I think we should all go to the media like CBC marketplace to expose them and Toyota should be accountable too to allow there dealers to be dishonest to there customers. Why they cannot have a transparent waiting system
Toyota absolutely does not care. I personally had a bad experience. I had a dealer who had a sienna LE coming in, deal had fallen through. He wanted 11k extra. So an LE Fwd would cost me 50K+ taxes. I called Toyota to complain. They asked for details of the dealer. I told them not to share my name.

Ten minutes later, I got a call from the dealer asking me what the issue was, apologizing, blah blah.

Toyota knows fully well what's going on, and frankly I think this is their business model.

If they didn't make good cars, I would've moved on.

Unless Toyota pays the dealers crappy commission and the dealers are supposed to make money on the side by being frauds, this makes no sense. To think they took a year to actually tell you your vehicle won't be built.

Siennas are being "sold" to the dealership's manager or salesperson, and then they sell it for 15k extra.

Funny thing is, folks are still willing to spend 15 to 20k extra.

Is there any contact information for Toyota to complaint, the last email I sent to Toyota Customer Care went unanswered.I went from number one on the list in May 2022 to being told that it might take another year .I do not care about the vehicle anymore but I do want to expose this unfair treatment being done to genuine customers.
I called their customer service directly. 1-888-869-6828.

And that agent straight up called the dealer. And then the dealer called me to give me some nonsense explanation..all within 15 minutes.

Earlier today, I got a call from a dealer who i had spoken to a few months ago, saying they have a Sienna available. Xse tech pack. They want 10k extra.

I was incensed and I called Toyota Canada straight after the call to complain about this.

Their official response and I'm quoting verbatim (mostly) "dealers are independent of Toyota, we have nothing to do with them. Some dealers may insist you have to buy some accessories. Others may insist you can't pay cash and have to go for a finance plan. Toyota cannot control it. If you're not happy with that dealer, you're free to call and shop around."

They're completely okay with what's happening and are probably laughing about their customers :D

I was raised in a country which is less developed than Canada, and even the government there is more transparent than Toyota Canada.

P.s: I truly hope the guy who ordered that Sienna that the dealer is flipping for a markup, he genuinely turned it down and isn't being cheated after a long wait..

Good luck boys and girls.

Is the Odyssey ready for delivery or you have to wait ( what is the ETA)?
You don't need to wait for the touring or black edition odysseys. They'll be available in SOME dealership in the GTA. But ex and exl will have massive waiting, unfortunately they're the best value trims for Odyssey. Touring is basically a lot more frills like ventilated seats, etc.

they always say 'a couple months'. Hope you get it though. All dealerships can go suck it. I hope they all go broke.
Lol I feel you. This time I have exact dates, color, credit check and all that. Hope it's not all for nothing.

But yeah, the situation is really messed up..but with the internet rate rise and the overall economy, I doubt the crazy markups will last.

Wow! Congrats to you guys! I put my order in March, 2022. Sienna XSE FWD.
They never called me or offered me anything so far. Kenshaw Toyota has so many great reviews but I guess it’s all fake reviews. Tired of waiting with no updates. I am thinking of getting Pacifica if the waiting time is not ridiculous….
Just don't go for the phev Pacifica. I loved it during my test drive. So much better to drive than the sienna. But they have a major recall announced FOR WHICH THEY DONT EVEN HAVE A FIX YET. it shuts down in the middle of your drive with no warning.

I hear great things about the gas pacifica.
