I too wonder how many people are prepared to wait 12-18 months for their Sienna (count me out). Clearly, the supply constraints is still severe, and getting worse by the day. Good thing the deposit is only $500 which can be forgone, in case plan B pans out much quicker.
Yup I’m hoping some people in line ahead of me may bail now and speed things up a bit for me. 12-18 months is a hell of a wait.

Hi everyone. Got the call yesterday. My silver XLE fwd has arrived. Picking it up on Friday. I ordered it late December. I was very surprised after reading all the post on this forum. My salesman says I ordered just in time because now they are also on the 12 month waiting time. This is at Kanata Toyota in the Ottawa area.
Congratulations for new car. I also book XLE silver fwd December 1st week. I didn’t hear anything yet. Can you post some pic of interior and exterior.

Congrats! I placed my order in Nov 2021 for XSE AWD white and I think this model is gonna be hell long wait. I hope I can get a phone call to pick up before summer 2023. LOL!

Had a fun run around with Toyota over the last year. Long story short they bought back my 21 tundra and got me into a 22 tundra, and at the same time ordered me (my wife) a 22 sienna XSE AWD w/ tech package in ruby red.

they had an allocation unclaimed, so we snagged it in January. We were told it would arrive middle of April, then April 20-24. Still nothing.
Drove by the dealer today, and low and behold, our exact van on the lot. Excited, I reached out to my salesman only to have him tell me, it’s not mine. Apparently they had identical allocations at near identical delivery dates. Not sure if I buy it.

alas, I am told that my Sienna is “stuck at the compound along with hundreds of others”

has anyone else been told this? In the system my dates still are listed as April 20-24 so dealer has no clue when mine might show up.

I'd say the dealer is full of horseshit. But then again, it doesn't matter. They can do and say whatever they want nowadays.

Doesn't pass the sniff test. But as Medallione said, they can do whatever they want since I assume nothing has been signed other than the paperwork for the deposit. If you happen to learn that they screwed you, I hope you post the dealership here to help others avoid the headaches of dealing with them.

Spoke with the dealer again today. They have assured me that I should be seeing my van show up in the next week or 2. So sounds like a coincidence to have to identical on the lot. Told me this one was ordered a month before I ordered mine and they had multiple delays in the same way.
So for now. I will trust them. Until they show me I cannot. Fingers crossed the new sienna comes soon.

I got extremely lucky, I live in Ontario, Canada, placed the order in mid February 2022, for a Sienna XSE with Technology Package.
I was told the wait time was 6-8 months, totally fine with it. But in early April, salesperson called me someone ordered an exactly same model but decided to not continue with the order, so asked me if I still want it.
I took the delivery in late April, and really enjoyed it so far.

Can you please let me know who/where the dealer?

What I've got from Erin Park Toyota (Mississauga, Ontario) this afternoon was the wait time for Sienna 2022 is up to 12 months and you would likely end up with a 2023 model which can mean higher price and you may not get the colour/options that you have ordered (e.g. if Toyota decides to eliminate blue from XLE trim in 2023 and that's what you've ordered, they wouldn't have that color in 2023 model to give it to you).
In the current situation, dealership tells customer to wait up to 12 months because they actually don't know when vehicles will be allocated, how many, which trims, which colours, or even which year 2022 or 2023. At some point, Toyota would need to stop making 2022 and start making 2023 - they'd have to.

I was quoted similar 12 months when I ordered at Erin Park end of February. On the other hand, some people who ordered near end of 2021 already received their vans. It really depends on luck of the draw, which trim you ordered vs what they get allocated, etc. Like you said, they say 12 months to keep expectations in check but really have no idea. My thinking is that it would be nice to get the van to use during the summer, otherwise I'm pretty okay with waiting a bit longer and getting a 2023.

Yes, you are lucky to have a salesperson who was on top of your order. I am in the Lower Mainland in BC, and I originally pre-ordered a 2022 XSE fwd in January of 2022, but then switched my order to a XLE for the extra seat in February. In March, my salesperson called me because he recalled I was originally interested in XSE and they had an unsold allocation coming end of May, so he was checking if I was still interested. I snatched it up and it has a VIN and is it transit to the dealership. I attended over 10 dealerships to shop for a Sienna and you can 100% tell which salesperson actually wanted your business. The ones that didn't care gave out the vibe that if you didn't buy from them, someone else will (which is certainly true in today's market).

That was my original thought. My concern is that we may see a larger price increase for 2023 from 2022 compare to other new model years because of rising costs and the finance rate will certainly be much higher next year. The the overall cost of getting 2023 may be quite significant over a 2022 with little to no changes in specs (maybe newer Safety Sense?).
