I'm seeing more Siennas in our area but folks on this board aren't backing that up.

Thinking the more Sienna I'm seeing are those that wanted to buy a minivan, had choice narrowed down to Toyota and so ordered early... they weren't really caring that it was now a hybrid rather they wanted a Toyota minivan and lucked into timing. Not typical forum members??

Those on forums like these are indicating even longer wait times then just this summer.

I hear you. I see a ton of Siennas near Oakville/Misssauga area, funny enough some even from Erin Park dealership. Lucky bastards. My rep told me November they will know a bit more on allocation and that deliveries for 2023 will occur sometime in December. At this point, I've mentioned I will accept any trim/colour and consider trade in too.

Ordered mine (XSE AWD + Tech package) back in Aug, 2021. Still waiting and no update from the dealership.

I dropped by the dealership this afternoon. My sales rep (who I believe he has been honest) told me that their dealership only got three Sienna allocation (1 LE & 2 XSE) last month. Unfortunately, the situation is out of their control, and they are frustrated by this as well. :(

Which dealership?
I'm also waiting from my order back in Oct 2021

Holy!

That's just what I ordered.. in GTA.. I ordered only in may 2022. Guess I'm not getting it next year either.. thinking il just go for an Odyssey or something.
GTA wait times are a bit better than that from what we've seen. Still, unfortunately you ordered after things started getting really bad, so yes, likely you've got a bit of a wait yet.
What are you being told for wait time for Odyssey? I heard Honda inventories were in bad shape too.

They are definitely better. You get it in like 6 months if you place an order now.. but, what's better is you have cancelled orders at dealers and they don't do market adjustments. I actually managed to find a black edition Odyssey (it's like platinum in Toyota).. but not sure if I want to spend that much for a minivan..

Odyssey used prices are actually much more sensible.. you won't find a 45k MSRP selling for 65k.. that's what folks are doing for Sienna which is absolutely insane

Kia folks are still doing market adjustments.

Quick update, may or may not help you folks here.

To understand the real situation, I have called multiple Honda dealerships. 5 out of 10 dealerships have a Honda Odyssey available immediately on the lot (if you don't care about the trim and color) or in the near future, by November or latest December (at least they tell you when you're getting your car!!!?). Most of them do not ask for any markups, or very small mark ups if at all.

For 100km driven, you save like 3 to 4$ on a Sienna vs. a Odyssey. So annually, for a guy like me who drives 10k kilometers, it's like 1k$. And for 50k$, the EX-l version of the Odyssey is super well loaded compared to the xse non tech package ( same price).

I see literally no reason to be desperate for a Sienna anymore or pay a cent in markups to those greedy dealers.

I still want a Sienna. I'll probably wait a couple of more months..else just go for an Odyssey. It's just as solid and a way better drive.

I am on the same boat here and may switch to an Outback XT if there's no update by year end.

I think Odyssy is averaging 12L/100km and 7L/100km for the sienna, that’s 5L different per 100km.

if you drive 10,000km per year that’s an extra 500L for the odyssey, that’s $750-$1,000 extra per yr

this is why it’s hard for me to not wanting the sienn, and more so for those who drive 20k km a year
Sure, I maybe off a little on the fuel calculation, but not by that much. And I'm a mainly highway commuter, not stop and go. Might work differently for me. But all said , doesn't justify the insane desperation and paying "market adjustments" which will negate any fuel savings

If mostly highway then agree that the savings vs Odyssey is not as much vs the city plus you can get Odyssey quicker.

Just sign up for a Sienna, get Odyssey in meantime and likely not to have too big a hit if trade it in 2-3 years.

if you need one now, then you have no choice but to get a minivan. I think getting the Odyssey at MSRP is way better than paying 65K for a Sienna LE. You cannot recoup the extra $$$ with the gas saving.

In my case, the Sienna will be our family's only vehicle (eBike is my 2nd car), so the fuel economy is a big draw for us. We are a family of 4, so my accord is technically fine for now. We will just sit tight and wait....

No one can predict the future, but historically your car will depreciate the most in the first 2 - 3 years... just keep that in mind if you plan to buy the Odyssey now and switch over to the Sienna in 2 - 3 years.

Already have a LE FWD so enjoying the gas savings :)

Got at MSRP and no admin fees.

July 2021 ordered XSE tech awd from WC Toyota in BC, still waiting and no updates...
That's insane. You must have the patience of Job. And really want the Sienna as there are lots of choices out there, maybe not hybrid, if not a deal-breaker.

Totally agree. I think some folks are a tad OCD on the fuel saving issue, as if nothing else matters. If you drive 8-10K per year, will switch vehicles every 3-5 years, do mostly highway driving, it may not matter that the Odyssey sucks more gas, especially if you consider the the ridiculous mark-ups (which wipes out any potential fuel savings anyways) and unreal wait-times for the Sienna. I am not crazy about the Odyssey because it is woefully outdated in the tech and driving aids/safety features, no justification to spend $55K plus taxes on an outdated car in 2022.

I am still considering the Sienna but maybe in a couple of years when they put TSS 3.0 and the new modern infortainment display on it, the wait times is more realistic and no pressure to pay mark-ups out of desperation, meanwhile, I ordered a 2023 Palisade Calligraphy with the plan to trade it in a couple of years..
