Hey, Toyota still has a long way to go to catch up to the Trabant wait list, but it's surely moving in the right direction

My dealer said that Toyota contractually has to produce all 2022 model year cars that it owes to dealers through allocation, BEFORE it can switch over to building the 2023MY. And it sounds like many dealers are possibly a couple months behind on receiving allocated cars. I'm sure someone can shed more light on this, with more info that I got, but I thought this was interesting.

On the dark side, though, if you wait for another 9 years or even less, your Sienna may be made illegal under "the Motor Law", prophesized by Rush in their Red Barchetta back in 1981

I would have assumed that Toyota only gives allocations to what they already know they can produce, so it wouldn't be a problem of them being in some sort of contractual bind.
According to at least one dealer in Canada, 2023 Highlander allocations should start in September, production in October, delivery (to Canada) by November. Sienna is on the same production line so I would assume similar timing.

Trabant joke heard in 1991 while in Bremen: Guy stops at a gas station with his Trabant in West Germany, says to the owner at the counter " how about a set of windshield wipers for my Trabant?" Owner thinks for a minute and says "Ok, I guess that's a pretty good trade".
Waiting on a 2022 XSE AWD in Predawn-Mica Gray and Moonstone interior. Supposed to arrive at dealer August 12th still in transit. I am lucky to be waiting for it tho. Someone ordered it in April and ended up backing out.

All this jealous Canadian can think is how great it would be to order an XSE AWD in April and have it arrive in August...

Thank you. Waiting to get out of the 07 Tahoe that is drinking gas like it's going out of style and since we are outgrowing it as a family of 5 as of this month. Not to mention we never pack light lol.
So we travel in sedan... pack the trunk to the hilt.
So we travel in suv... pack the trunk to the hilt.
So we travel in van... pack the trunk to the hilt.
Invariably you will pack fully the space that is available
At least we do even after saying to pack light.

Congrats. I wonder if you can place an order from 2 or more dealerships. In case one shows up earlier. That might explain why there are cancellations.
I don't see any reason why you couldn't place an order at multiple dealerships. Then again another thing to consider is the wait time. Alot can change in the time it takes for these orders to be filled.
