2005 Deville ranges from 6.2 seconds to 7.5 seconds. I currently own a 2005 Deville, and a 2023 Sienna XLE.
Having driven both extensively, the acceleration difference is "no contest". However, I agree the Sienna is much quicker than you think. In part, this is because I always drive the Sienna in "Eco" mode, where "sport" mode is much faster.
Yea it feels slow prob cause of the ecvt but if you look at the speedometer it quickly picks up speed. The 2GR engine in the gen3 is a beast and I think you can install a supercharger to make it even quicker.

1940 Buick (my first car, $100)
1956 Chevy 210 station wagon (the first of many wagons; and my wife's first car)

1973 Oldsmobile wagon
1974 Chevy Vega (laugh if you want; it taught 3 teenagers to drive a shift)
1988 Honda CRX (I really miss that car)
1985 Buick LeSabre (woke me up to cloth seats lasting)
199? Cadillac Deville
2001 Dodge Minivan
2006 Cadillac DTS

2017 Highlander AWD Platinum (current, ~60,000 miles)

You're a parent. Stop trying to fake the funk. lol. Yes the Tesla is fast but I don't think it makes you look that cool. If you wanna look cool get a Porsche. Lol.

And a real Porsche not an SUV Porsche.

This is such an iconic vehicle, and in such good shape! I will always know this van as the one where triad members wielding machetes pour out of in HK movies, ready to beat up rival gang members!

Our old van was a 1986 Toyota Van (that’s what it was called, not very unique). We owned if for 30 years, selling it for exactly what we paid, and promptly bought the 2013 Sienna (used).

72 GMC Vandura (bought from a friend: tricked out by him, so amateur job but not bad). When I met my wife, she had a 78 Cutlass Supreme Brougham, which became mine, sorta, when the van died and we bought a 1987 Legend. Cutlass replaced by 90 Taurus wagon, which itself was replaced by a succession of two Chrysler Town & Country minivans (97, totaled; 98). Legend replaced in 2000 by Camry; Camry totaled, replaced with Kia Forte. T&C replaced by 2011 Sienna Limited, and Kia sold--we're down to one car, she doesn't drive any more due to health issues. All pretty boring, but we're happy with the Sienna and it's going strong at 12 years: just passed 77,777 miles (yes, we don't go anywhere to speak of, also due to her health issues).

Wheel Car Tire Land vehicle Vehicle

My first attempt to going fossil fuel independent. About 15 years ago ive had several attempts at WVO (waste veg oil) and Biodiesel production. Living in Ohio - it wasnt very feasible due to the cold weather. But i did convert a few diesel cars to use discarded french fry oil. This was my favorite - a 1983 Mercedes Coupe. Loved it for 10 or so years and gave it to my brother. I loved it so much I owned a total of 5 diesel benzes. The last one is a 2007 Mercedes ML320 CDI. I still have that / use it for pulling a boat, etc. Still going strong @ 166k miles (the 2007 CDI). I hope my Sienna lasts as long as these Mercedes diesels.

Before Sienna I drove Land-rovers for 25 years on and off the rough roads of Tanzania. They were good for hauling a lot of people or supplies, and for camping. When we moved to a more suburban life in US, our niece who worked for Toyota convinced us to buy a Sienna, which performed some of those functions and was ultra reliable, but wasn’t great on the rough roads. Now we’ve lifted the suspension and can take it to more adventurous places!

Off topic:

I disagree with the author of that article from dailymail.
While he may be a doting dad... he is far from being a fine actor and even further from being a fine human being.
Yes I agree. Lol. Not making excuses for him but we're basically from the same kinda neighborhood in Boston. I can picture him as the typical 80/90s townie that got into gang fights. He Prob grew up around old guys like Whittey Bulger.

I had several Jeeps as my first cars. I had a 94 and 99 Cherokee then moved on to a 99 then 2003 grand Cherokee. I got a 2009 and 2015 forester as my next 2 cars before moving to a 2019 Subaru ascent before getting my 2022 Sienna XSE.

In 2022 alone, I sold 3 cars and bought 3 cars. Originally had a 2017 Lexus GS350 F-Sport and a 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD. Sold both and bought a 2018 Tesla Model S 75D and a 2023 Kia Carnival SX. Then sold the Kia Carnival and bought a 2023 Toyota Sienna XLE. I really wanted to keep the Carnival, but ultimately, it's my wife's car, and she had her heart set on the Sienna. The Sienna is such a big downgrade in every way except for the hybrid engine. We get 580 miles per tank with the Sienna versus like 300 in the Carnival. But other than that, the Sienna is pretty crappy compared to the Carnival.

Is that your first Kia ? I had a neigbor who had an older Carnival 2012. They had called the tow truck so many times - the tow truck driver became friends with them. I hope Kia solved their issues by now. I'm not walking into any Kia / Hyundai showroom unless its for their mainstream product like a Sonata. Definitely - no Kia/Hyundai hybrids for now.
