I agree. I will look for issues in the two circuits. Still need to get the tail lights working.

 

I can’t recall which wiring issue I had with my 2001, since it was quite a few years ago, but you might Google issues caused by a short in wiring with the driver’s side sun visor. The wire that powers the mirror lamp can rub against the frame and wear down the insulation, causing a short and mysteriously malfunctioning electronics. I fixed it by removing a couple screws where the visor arm is and wrapping electrical tape where the insulation was missing. Trouble free for many years since.
