Hello. I'm new here and I've found it difficult to research on this subject. Please let me know if I've posted in the wrong section. I have a 2011 Sienna Limited that has the navigation/dvd player in the front and a 10-inch flip down monitor in the rear. it was working fine when I purchased the minivan in December but hasn't been working in the last couple weeks. The screen is blank. My dvd player however is working because I can watch it on the front screen. I tried checking all the fuses but maybe I have missed one. I just want to make sure I covered all options before trying to purchase a new screen. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated. Just want to be prepared for the next long trip with the kids! Thanks...

Here is what happened to me.
I have a 2012 Sienna XLE with the Wide Screen DVD Monitor. It went blank and the DVD tab on the Audio touch screen had disappeared and the radio stopped playing. I took van to local dealer and for $100.00 they diagnosed the problem as a shorted out Monitor Screen. I was not about to pay thousands to get it replaced so I bought a used one off of EBay for $169.95.
It arrived today and I mounted it where the old one had been and pugged in the two connectors and started the van. The radio came on immediately and I pushed the Audio button and the DVD tab was back. I inserted a DVD and the screen came on and it WORKS.
Four things to look for.
1. Radio stops playing most of the time or goes off and on.
2. Screen does not power up when you insert a DVD in the player, but the radio will begin to play.
3. The DVD control tab disappears when you push the Audio button.
4. DVD player will accept a disc and the green light powers up to show that it is working properly.

The Rear Screen Monitor completes a loop in the Audio Visual System and if it shorts out the loop is broken. So don't try to replace the DVD player or the Multi Media Interface Module or anything else if you have these 4 symptoms, it will always be the monitor.

Good luck with all of you out there who love their Sienna and do not want to part with it or in my case cant afford to sell it or trade it and buy another one.
My grandchildren will be delighted and I have 6 of them, that is why I bought this van.
