Hey guys I just finished installing a pioneer 4200 NEX on my 2012 Sienna, I hope this will be helpful for someone who is on the fence on doing this job, Im really satisfied with the install. I forgot to mention in my guide that the IDATALINK maestro will give you tire PSI information, check engine codes (if any) door open alerts and gauges.
if you have any questions please let me know

Great writeup, Thanks for sharing. A few questions:

1. Did you replace an Entune based HU or a regular one
2. The NEX does not sit flush with the front of the Alpine kit. Does it in any way affect the movement of the front Bezel. I have a 8200 and am debating between the ALpine and non-Alpine kit
3. Which USB adapter (Metra or iDatalink) did you use to retain the factory USB
4. The TO1 harness only outputs 4.5V. Were you able to get your OE backup cam to work with it?
to answer your questions:
1.- I dont think entune was an option on the 2012, if it was, then I replaced the regular plain old radio with pixel green screen
2.- In the PDF attached to my original post, I show you where to trim the alpine kit with a dremel, no movement issues
heres a video, if you can find an alpine kit, GO FOR IT. its the only reason I did an upgrade, the METRA kit or the scoshe kit just look fugly
3.- Idatalink Maestro retains everything from factory except the microphone, you have to install the one that comes with the HU
4.- you will not need (if you have a 2011 to a 2014) provide power to the backup camera, that is done by the little screen on the dash, you will not plug power to that camera using the aftermarket harness, if you do, you will probably fry the camera. you will need just to tap into the existing video wires.
hope this helps

Thanks for the write-up. I'm wanting to replay the head unit with the Alpine ILX-107 for wireless CarPlay. I'm just waiting until after CES to see if they announce anything better, like the ILX-309 with wireless CarPlay.
I WANTED a wireless apple car play unit, after going back and think about things I decided to go with the tried and true USB connection: remember, having a wifi connection between your HU and cellphone always working while driving will impact your phone battery. youll eventually have to plug your phone
here is a video that I found useful before purchasing my 4200 NEX
