I usually get additional all weather floor mat for my car so this time I got 2012 Sienna without floor mat. Unfortunately, as all of the post indicates, there isn't anything fit well the sliding 2nd row layout. Any available floor mat leaves big gap.
The area that gets dirty most in my case is the 3rd row seat where my 2years old son seat, and the storage well where the dirty stroller stays. So, after searching the local stores, I decide to get the 3'x5' all weather door mat from home depot. I use the same in my house for couple of years. It works extremely well consider the low profile. I do have concern that it is not designed for automobile since the cabin can get hot during summer. But for the cost and considering it's indoor/outdoor commercial mat, I want to try it.
So here is my $19 and 2 hrs project. The tool: utility scissors and mark tap (for pant).
I push the 2ne row to all the way front. The length of the mat is perfectly covers all the open area without cover the air condition.
The width of the mat is also perfect. Half inch overlay the door trim which is a good size to push the rubber underneath the trim.
First cut is to create the opening for the seat latch.
Then mark tap the track and cut them one by one.
Once done, push the edge under the door trim.
Then cut the wheel well and push the edge under the trim.
All done. The floor mat is heavy enough to stay in place. 2nd row slides freely with not problem.
I'll see how things go and might just get another one for the cargo well in a couple of weeks.
