Hey everyone,

I just purchased my Sienna a couple of days ago & received the all weather mats from Toyota at the time of purchase. The dealership attempted to install them but ultimately said I'd probably have to trim them myself to get them to fit.

I found this forum after standing in my garage & scratching my head trying to figure out how to put the puzzle together. Unfortunately, it seems like everyone is having the same issue or trying to find an aftermarket solution.

I was able to install the Toyota all weather mats myself & thought it would be helpful to post how to do it.

There are going to be a lot of mats involved but 4 of them are narrower than the remaining 2 mats. The 2 mats that are wider will be used for the aisle. The other 4 go under the second row seats & reach back to the 3rd row. It was easiest to use the 2 short & narrow mats in front of the 2nd row seat & use the longer section to go under the 2nd row seat & back to the 3rd row. There isn't enough clearance for a mat to go under the section that slides out with the cup holders for the 2nd row.

First, remove the factory installed carpet mats between the rails & in the aisle. When you remove the carpet mats you'll see there are tabs under the rail holding them in place.

You'll want to use a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool to help push the edge of the all weather mat under the rail. There are 3 edges or lips on the all weather mats that can be used the same way to achieve a snug fit. When I installed them it worked best to just get the first edge hooked on one side then make sure the mat is still aligned where you want it b/c it will probably move depending on the force required to get the mat under the rail. I was only able to hook the first edge for under the seats & in the aisle I was able to get to the second edge easily.

Once you are finished it looks pretty good & it's snug. My only concern is dirt getting into the rails & causing them to have difficulty sliding in the future. It should also be worth noting that there isn't an all weather mat to replace the factory carpet mat between the sliding doors & 2nd row seats.

I hope this helps! I've used google & forums to solve lots of problems I've run into & I finally get to repay the favor. :)

How do you think the Toyota one compare to the weathertech or others here?

OMG you are a genius and I am bowing to you!!! I went and test drove a 2011 demo Sienna limited and was rather disappointed in the "tracks" since I knew immediately I could not buy good floor mats. I have one question though, how come you did not "hug" the tracks more with the carpet? Is it so the seat can move more freely? I was serioulsy considering not purchasing this car simply because of the scratching that I saw with the moving of the seats on the plastic track. You have given me hope:)....

Westielove, the track is metal wrapped by plastic. I don't see any reason of scratch by normal use. The reason that I didn't cover more track is simply to stay away from the chair. My dealer gave me a set of Toyota all weather floor mat. Like in the previous post, one floor mat suppose to go under the right seat. I don't know why the right seat is lower. The floor mat is constantly in the way. So, I didn't really use it. I just don't want that to happen to my custom mat.
After couple weeks of use, the custom floor mat serves it's purpose very well! No blocking and well keeps dirt/food on the mat. Absolutely love it! :)

Just a quick question about the various all-weather mats (and I'm not sure if it's been covered yet). Are they a hard, rigid plastic? Or more pliable rubber? I'm considering the Husky and Weather Techs.
I have weathertechs (Digital Fit) in the front and hexomat in the 2nd and 3rd rows. The hexomats are a pliable rubber material and the weathertechs are a harder (yet thin) plastic type of material.

bikingblue, it works excellent. Catching dirt and food very well and stay in place with no issue. No smell so far as my original concern, even after couple hours at 100 degree parking lot. :) I didn't do the cargo well but just got 2 light rubber cargo mat from wallmart to cover it. No much dirt to trap in the cargo well.
To clean up, I just vacuum the mat. Right now, I'm considering add another mat between the front seat and the second since I'm moving my boy to the second row now.

Good luck. This is all worth the effort!!

I have the 2nd and 3rd row Hexmats. These seem to be the best solution so far if you want your seats to slide. They do cover basically all carpeted areas of the vehicle. I did remove the factory mats (kind of a chore) in order for the 2nd row Hexomats to fit under the seats.

note mine did not smell bad at all. The shipping carton had several holes in it, maybe they have added these to allow them to air out?

Hi Jeff,

I have just picked up my 2013 sienna XLE 8 seaters... I have been reading and looking around for long time about the 2nd and 3rd row mats.... I have been trying to see who is selling the hexomats that does not cover the rails and also extends all the way to the 3rd row..... that's the one I'd really love to have. Is the one you have like this?? Or you have to cut it yourself?

I hope that you can tell me where did you buy the items from?

I look forward to hear from you soon.

Thanks.

ALAN

I have the exact same question as Alan and will be waiting for your reply.

I just purchased a 2012 Sienna LE - cannot stand the way the rails show in front of the 2nd row (preferred the way my 06 Sienna looked and worked better, but we've upgraded to the 2012)...My question is this - I added an all weather mat across the 2nd row to cover up the rails, but it slides around - not very safe! Does anyone know if the WEATHER TECH Digital or All-Weather mat slide once stepped on? I don't mind that they cover the rails, but I don't want them sliding around as it is dangerous. I hope this makes sense - any help/advice is appreciated! :)

Now it's 1/2013 and I'm looking for mats - why no good solutions? The hexomat looks like the only one that comes close.

Looks like they carry the Hexomat brand mats. I'm looking to get something for a 2011 Sienna (8 seat option). Has anyone ordered these? I'm wondering if they are really cut out so that the rails for the middle seats are free.

If that's the case then I'd go with these for back, middle and cargo and with the WeatherTech or OEM Toyota for the front.
