All options are on the table, new Carnival included, as well as current Sedona, Pacifica Touring-L, Sienna XLE, even the overpriced Odyssey EX-RES (lowest trim level in Canada, yet still without BLIS and RCTA).
I'd eliminate the Pacifica from the list due to poor reliability and quality which is shown in the Consumer Reports reliability data. I'd also eliminate the current 2021 Sedona because the 2022 Carnival appears to be a lot better and it will only cost a little bit more. Plus if you want a new car you might have a difficult time finding a 2021 Sedona in stock later in the year with the 2022 Carnival already announced. Also it looks like the Carnival is less expensive than a similarly equipped Sienna and Odyssey.

Totally agree on the Pacifica. Any media outlet that recommends a Chrysler product immediately loses credibility in my book. Most folks are driving their families in this thing on long trips. I need a car that I trust.

Price moves cars? Tell that to Suzuki, Renault, Izusu, Mitsubishi. Not even low prices can save a car company if they were truly terrible cars. I think you guys just believe internet hype, in which case, why are you here instead of the Highlander forum?

lol, you guys make it sound like Pacificas are are breaking down by the droves. The Pacifica is the best selling minivan for a reason. This isn't the 80's.
People buy the Pacifica because it's relatively inexpensive compared to the Sienna and Odyssey and I'm guessing that the exterior styling is helping attract buyers because it's a relatively attractive looking minivan. Regardless, there's plenty of evidence that Chryslers in general aren't reliable. Here's the latest JD Power vehicle dependability study. Chrysler is way at the bottom.

And here's the Chrysler Pacifica overall reliability verdict from Consumer Reports based on data from responses to their surveys. You can see that the 3 and 4 year old Pacificas aren't very reliable.

Who said the Pacifica was terrible? You are making a straw man argument. The Pacifica has a lot of cool features and actually is the best looking in the segment (my opinion). However, it just shouldn't be considered in the upper tier of minivans due to its suspect reliability. That's not my opinion. That is based on an independent 3rd party analysis (Consumer Reports). The Pacifica has been poor to below average in predicted / actual reliability almost every year. You are the one pushing hype. Keep your hype. I will stick with actual data.

Man.. You see how far HONDA has fallen in that chart.. No wonder there making constant Honda feel good giveway cash and goodies commercials. .. Instead of making good reliable cars like they used too. Now there trying to win public image support with these commercial to sell cars.. Lol.. How sad is that.

UPDATE::didn't realize it was a JD ranking, not consumer reports ranking.. I cant take JD seriously..

Ok.. I take that back... JD powers is bought and sold for their rankings ratings.. I don't trust JD rankings and neither do lot of smart buyers.. I thought it was consumer reports, who have credibility integrity.

I'm sorry if I gave the impression that the JD Power dependability study was from Consumer Reports. That wasn't my intention. I recently saw that chart so I figured I'd include it. Regardless, CR usually saws that Honda, Toyota and Kia have very good reliability and Chrysler does not.
