Crank Position Sensor

Hello

I am needing some help replacing my crank position sensor on my 07 Sienna Limited. I am having a no-start issue and need to replace the sensor to see if that is the cause. All I have found on line is some info saying it is on the block behind the AC compressor? If anyone has done this repair before I could use some tips on how it's done. Specifically does the compressor have to come all the way out or can I leave it connected to refrigerant lines and move it out of the way?

Thanks

Yes. It looks like the AC comp needs to be removed to get at it.

Let's start from the beginning. Does the immobilizer light go out when the key is inserted? Does it have a aftermarket remote start?
Any additional info is needed. Any history on major things? Engine was replaced or timing cover reseal... Could it be the sensor? maybe. It is not a common thing.

I just checked the immobilizer light and it does not go out when I insert the key into the ignition, but it does go out when I turn the key to the on position. Is it supposed to go out with the key in the ignition? No after market security system. I did recently have an issue with the key getting stuck in the ignition switch due to an issue with the sensor that holds the key in place unless the car is in park. I unplugged that sensor and left it unplugged so the key would come out of the switch. Planning to replace the park sensor eventually, but it has run fine for over a month without it.

The other recent work I did was replacing coil packs on 1,3,5 cylinders due to a CEL and rough running just before this problem. After that work the car ran great initially, then died and had to be towed home the next day. The codes I am getting now are P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, and P0356 - all ignition coils faulting.

I have another thread going on that issue, but the things I have tried so far are:
  • Pulled a coil pack and put a plug in and touched to block and got strong spark while cranking.
  • Checked fuel pressure and got 0PSI with key on, and 40-45 PSI while cranking. No pump noise when key is turned on, so I don't think it's priming prior to cranking and not sure if it is supposed to prime.
  • Cleaned MAF sensor.
  • Swapped the horn relay with the fuel pump relay
  • Checked all of the EFI fuse.
Someone suggested the Crank sensor which is why I posted here. Any help at all on what to try next is appreciated.

Thanks
