Great time to buy tires in general

Our 2018 Sienna is at 27k miles and needed new tires.
I bought Michelin Cross Climate 2's from America's Tire. They have a Thanksgiving sale and they also matched Costco's no-install-fee price.

Got all 4 installed (without warranty certificates) for $908 including taxes.
Note that when they rung me up, they quoted $1250 including warranty certificates which are $160.

FYI for those who don't know:
America's Tire rotates, balances and repairs flat tires for free.
They also match prices from any competitor including Costco.

(No, I do not work for them. I've been a customer for over 15 years)

27k miles on a 2018? Where have you not been going?

What’s the difference between having a warranty cert vs not, other than costs more?
Ha ha. We got it before Covid. My work was only 6 miles away and I started biking to work. Now I commute by train so the van naps in the garage on weekdays.

Warranty certs will replace the tire with a new one if it’s not repairable for whatever reason.
The reality is that you’ll probably use it once during the 6 years and that too, they sell you the warranty ($40) again for the new tire.
You’ve pretty much paid for a new tire. ($160 + $40).
If you get flats more often, it maybe worth it. I’ve used it only once so far.
