Thanks. I ended up installing this myself. It wasn’t too bad at all. I looked at the one you mentioned but I didn’t need a passenger cam and when I emailed customer service they didn’t respond.

Here are some pics of the install. I can see the rear defroster window wires in the image and may move the camera a bit.

Finally I hardwired it by connecting this cigarette lighter to the Subaru connector to the pre install dash cam harness in the roof light.

How did you run the cable from the front to the rear? I'm currently looking to install a front and rear dash cam. I have the front installed but have not install the rear yet since I don't know how to route the cable. Did you remove the roof liner or did you route it another way.

It has a 3M sticker and I put it on the front windshield next to the rearview mirror on the passenger side.

 

 

I purchased the same Pormido Dashcam as Dr.U and installed it about a month ago. I have purchased and installed 3 other similar units from other manufacturers and returned them (Amazon) due to failure and poor performance. This one is the one to get: it works properly and never fails to record which was a problem with the others I tried. The 12" mirror fits perfectly in my 2022 XLE and doesn't impede the visor functions. (all mirror dashcams with 'built-in' front cameras stick out to the left of the original Toyota OEM mirror and can impede the driver visor function, this one doesn't) The separated front camera is mounted directly to the inside windshield which gives 100% clear front recordings, the mirror dashcams with 'built-in' camera always have part of the front recording blocked by the Toyota windshield mounted sensors casing. Another plus is that the rear camera (as well as the front one) use HDR technology (High Dynamic Range) to reduce headlight glare from other vehicles in nighttime recordings. This is especially helpful for the rear camera at nighttime, the other dashcams I tried were almost completely washed out by car headlights when night driving rendering the mirror display useless at nighttime. I would never buy a dashcam without HDR now. Lastly, whatever anti-glare tech they are using for the display, I can tell you that it really works, the other dashcams had very bad glare issues. It took me an hour to install the display and 3 cameras, actually super easy in the 4th gen Sienna. When the weather gets warmer here in CT, I will install the Pormido hardwire kit and connect the rear camera to the backup lights to gain the use of that function as well. As we all know now, the Sienna backup camera has very poor image and color so I look forward to augmenting with backup lines on the Pormido display

Yup! I have the Pormido Triple cam, and love the way the mounting mechanism is over the stock mirror, still have access to all the Homelink buttons. I bought the pormido hardwire kit and the F-connector from Longo Toyota, and used the OEM blue accessory plug under the roof center c onsole to power the dash camera.

TIP: When installing the Pormido, make sure the USB-C video cord plugs into the unit with the wire pointing to the left side. When I was first installing it, I had the wire going the opposite way because the USB-C plug can be plugged either way. If you plug it in with the wire pointing to the right, the rear camera will not work. It took me several hours and searching online to finally figure out what was wrong, I initially thought my unit was defective.

For those of you who has the regular dual cam set up with Pormido ---- is there a way to attach it so that it doesn't block the light sensor on the bottom? I can see the triple cam can be set up a bit higher, but I am curious if the same can be done for the dual cam version?

 

Are there any digital rear view mirrors that just install instead of the OEM (instead of on top), preferably with homelink buttons? I want it to look as stock as possible.

Totally fine running a wire to the backup cam, but hoping to replace the mirror instead of adding to it.

 

No. There are some models that can be mounted as replacements to the original Toyota mirror but none have homelink or sos capability. You’d have to go all oem Toyota to get that and you have digital rearview mirror but no dash cam capability, and the cost is probably north of $1000. Totally not worth it. I have my Pormido 12 inch mounted on the stock Toyota mirror, and I can still access the whole link buttons.

 

Thanks for your links and write up! Just finished installing.. wouldn't have even attempted that accessory plug without your info but feel better having it wired direct. Took me two attempts getting the wires in the connector, I'm a newbie when it comes to wiring. First time I shoved wire all the way in then looking back at your pic I realized the wire ends at the second crimp.. also the crimped side goes down when you insert it in the connector I had to wiggle it to get it in all the way.. Loving the 3 cam so far only issue I get red lines on the rear cam from brake light

 

Try mounting the rear camera behind the plastic using double sided clear tape. Works for me as I have no brake lines on mine.
