2016 XLE Premium with 3500 miles developed knocking noise on right/passenger rear area mostly on uneven roads wher ther could be some car body flexing, also accelerating on a stop sign or traffic lights, lately coming down from a spped bump, but cannot hear anything on bumpy roads so I am very confused.the noise is just one and done like "tap" and that's it everytime. This car is not abused nor driven much which shows in the low mileage.
It sounded like suspension noise but I am not sure, everything seems tight underneath.Could it be our built in sway bar link moving?I checked the top nut of right rear shock and it is tight.I don't know if they are body parts(doorspanels) that are rubbing against each other everytime there's some sudden flexing or movement.
I need help from fellow members. Please let me know if anyone had experienced this.
Thank you all.
Did u ever found solution to this problem?

We cannot thank you enough for this advice!!!! For the last year we couldn’t figure out where that annoying knocking sound was coming from. We even changed out the shocks and still the knocking sound was there!!!! I came across this post and tried out the trick. INCREDIBLE! It’s gone! We cracked open two bottles of beer and cheered to you! Thank you! Cheers to you!
