Rear differential viscous coupler

Guys I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this, I have 2012 limited AWD sienna and I was told that I need to replace the part called viscous coupler #41303 it’s part of the rear differential assembly. Right now I don’t experience anything different in driving the car other than the lound annoying sound coming from the back. Considering that the part cost $1600 I was thinking of not replacing it but I’m not sure what will happen if the part breaks completely. All the mechanics I talked to have different opinions. Someone thinks that the car will still be operable and someone said that the car won’t run at all!

Did anyone drive it to a point that the part got broken completely and the car stopped running? Thank you very much!

I'm having same issue with our 2011. I've found some videos on youtube saying you can replace the 2 bearings in it but the dealer and others will say you have to buy the $900-1200 unit.
Here are the part numbers I've found:

Bearing Radial Ball - Toyota P/N (90363-65004) - I think the NSK P/N is to be 95DSF01
Bearing Radial Ball - Toyota P/N (90363-95007) - I think the NSK P/N is to be 61911
Seal Type S Oil - Toyota P/N (90310-54001)

Hi Guys, I'm currently changing the coupler bearings on my 2011 Limited AWD. I got the correct parts except for the inner/smaller bearing. The size is bigger. Its the part number I got from this forum.
If someone can help me get the correct Toyota part number, that would be awesome.
It's an NSK 6911V, size 80*55*13 mm.

Here is a thread that shows a source I found through Google:

I went with a local repair shop who has done this before, so I didn't use them. Longo Toyota's website has a VIN search, so you can double check to see if the parts would indeed fit your exact vehicle. My first part number, I believe it was from this thread, was indeed wrong and they referred me to the proper variation.

I would have used OEM parts, with hesitation: It was a genuine Toyota part that broke down at 126K, and that bothered me. Would the next Toyota bearing do the same? However, one post here talked about the lack of a groove for an o ring seal in the NSK bearing, and I was concerned that might lead to dust contamination or some such.

Along the way, I found a website that decoded bearing numbers, and it was fascinating reading. If you are getting your own, I'd suggest searching for it as background, bearings are one of those closed box mysteries I don't much understand, and this shed some light on things. It explained why you definitely DON'T want some similar bearings.

My van goes to the shop tomorrow, wish me luck. I'm trading an experienced mechanic, not having to do it myself, and a written guarantee for him charging a 150%+ markup on the parts over their cost. Not as bad as the local dealers, but still! He quoted me just under $800 total to fix it.

Thanks!

Yesterday I finally found the 13mm (newer 2015+) coupler bearings, dust shield, and oil seal -- all OEM Toyota, from an EBay seller in Quebec. There may be similar for the US if searching for "Sienna coupling".
