Tow Hitch Installation Issues - 2007 XLE - Drawtite 2004-2020 Class 3 Not fitting

Bought a Drawtite hitch on Amazon 2004-2020 Part # 75237/ 44786/CQT75237 and it is not fitting on my 2007.
I'm waiting to hear back from Drawtite.

Do I need to cut or remove the undercarriage? Is this the "appearance panel" or did they send the wrong one? The fit is not easy.

Has anyone else had to remove the appearance panel or had luck with Drawtite on this model?

Seems like the fit should be easier.

Wondering if I need to cut, melt, or remove the appearance plate (gray cover) so the hitch will fit.

If the hitch was for your van, the van comes with pre-drilled, threaded holes for the hitch. I didn't think it was Class 3 though. I thought it was limited to Class 1. The one I got (don't remember the brand) lined right up perfectly, except my bolt holes were rusted out.

Hi,
I called Drawtite, and they confirmed that I had the correct hitch. However, they advised me to remove the appearance plate and suggested that I don't worry about putting the plastic plate back on. They gave me these links.

Where did you order the hitch from? I got mine from etrailer and they have a pretty good system of making sure you get the proper hitch for your vehicle.
