Thank you JohnHartshorn. I think they did go "on the cheap" with this one. Too many assumptions that everyone uses Spotify, Pandora, etc to listen to music. I've decided that my music is more important Android Auto and I'll use directions on my phone, just not plugged into the system. Pretty annoying.
Thanks for sharing this information -----
I bought just a new 2022 Sienna 2 weeks before and I would really think about this USB which can not support same-time AA with music play via USB.
Does anyone have any idea that we can utilize simultaneously?
You aren’t limited to Spotify, Pandora, or any other streaming music music source with Android auto. Unless your phone is out of space, simply transfer your music to your phone, and use any of a wide number of Android Auto compatible apps to play your music directly from your phone on Android Auto. The Play Music app, which many Android phones will have by default since it’s a Google app, is one of the apps that is Android Auto compatible and will play music that’s stored on your phone.

Maybe this is a dumb question (I don't have a Sienna yet), but do the 2021 and later Sienna entertainment systems (even on the lower or base models) have an "audio in" input (via a small stereo jack), in case you want to non-wirelessly play audio files that are physically stored on your phone or on a small music player? Or, if not, is the "audio in" connection only avail via bluetooth?
Yes

I don't know what manual jseyfert3 got this out of, but it was not a gen4 Sienna. There is no aux port on my 2021 XSE. My dash doesn't even look like the illustration depicted. Your choices are BT or USB.
The file I had saved under the name “2021 Sienna Multimedia Manual.” Must have named the wrong file. Oops
