HID headlights required for 08 Sienna Limited?

I hit a deer recently that caused damage to the passenger side front where now I have to get new headlights. I've got an '08 Sienna Limited.

I'm paying out of pocket to get my Sienna back on the road since my insurance won't cover hitting a deer. Typical of them.

This vehicle came with HID headlights but I'm having trouble finding a good set of HID to replace them both with. I keep searching eBay and other sites but they keep showing me regular headlights, not HID ones.

Theyall keep saying they fit my '08 Sienna but not the Limited series, only CE, LE, and I think XLE too. The first thing I do is look at the pictures of the back of the headlight assembly to see if it has that unique ballast that only HID ones have but they don't have it so I move on to the next one. It's getting exhausting so I need help.

Do I actually have to get HID or can I go with a basic standard type of headlight? What can I get away with to put in my Sienna?

There is inside the cab just to the left of the steering column an adjustment knob that I believe raises and lowers the height of the headlight beams but it doesn't do much good so I don't see the need to go HID just for that adjustment feature.

I've already got the replacement hood and other parts from a junk yard so the headlights are the only issue I've got left to deal with. I actually got one passenger side headlight from an '08 LE but it doesn't have the same connections in the back for the main headlight so I can't use it unless I can figure out how to rewire it.

Here's a pic of my Sienna in its current state with the bumper and everything removed.

Thanks a bunch!

Lee

I have an 06 limited hids. To fix the fogged lenses there where only two choices. 1) Dealer, over $400 a side. O5r 2) located a bare extra o.e. h.i.d. set and had both professionally micro wet sanded/polished and automotive quality clear coat applied. Luuuv the h.i.d's. They are doing so well (2 years) I wont be hanging on to the extra set. I boxed and put them away. Great condition tabs and all. I've got over $400 into them. They are up for that $ if you want to cover shipping LMK. redgtastang @ yah@@ . Com

You may have to seek out used ones from a junkyard. They pop up from time to time.

I've definitely been looking at junk yards. I just found the hood and other parts from an '08 Sienna at a junkyard nearby but it was an LE model so I couldn't use the headlights. I just learned of a website known as car-part.com where it lists all the junk yards around the country that have whatever part I'm looking for.

Sorry to hear that. Do you have collision insurance coverage on the vehicle? The insurance company is denying your collision insurance claim?

Thanks. I'm in Delaware and have liability insurance which covers damages to somebody else's vehicle. I already knew in advance that my coverage wouldn't do anything for me so I didn't even bother asking my insurance company for help.

I know this because about 2 weeks prior to the accident, I called my State farm insurance agent to ask how much more it would be for full coverage in case I hit a deer but they came back with a ridiculous quote that I didn't think was justified so I didn't go for it. My plan was to shop around for a different insurance company with a better rate for full coverage but was too busy working to find one. That's what I get for dragging my feet I suppose. Lol

Bummer dude. I have full coverage on the Highlander and Sienna since they're both regularly used as family haulers. That, plus liability on the Mercedes, comes out to about ~$165/mo. But my wife and I are almost 40 and have squeaky clean records, so...

That's not a bad rate for three vehicles. Maybe it's just the way Delaware is since it's a no-fault state to explain why rates are higher than other states. Who is your insurance company?

Check car hyphen part dot com. I’m not pushing that site, but it allows you to search junkyards across the nation. Those hard to find parts are easier to find when you search that many junkyards. I need an auto-dimming outside mirror for my 06 Limited, and they’re on there, but I won’t pay what places want for those.

Thanks for the info. I just learned about that car-part(.)com site last week and used it to find a replacement hood. I need to get on there again and try to find some HID headlights.

And you should try eBay to find your side mirror because I found a heated side mirror for my '08 limited from a junkyard in Canada. I think I paid like $90 for it but it was worth that because it was for the Limited plus it matched the charcoal gray color of my Sienna so that was a win-win.

If your side mirror still works but the glass is cracked, you can always buy new mirror glass. You can find those on eBay. If you want the link to the ones that I got for my Sienna, let me know and I'll post the link.
