spent the weekend practicing my Google-fu, scouring the interwebs to research whether or not this is possible for the Sienna - I wasn't able to find anything certain just yet, but hopefully the information I discovered will lead us down the right path. Like
@Geezer1 mentioned, folks have been able to make this work with other Toyota vehicles - here's a writeup of what I've learned so far:

Folks have gone down several different paths, from comparing the code for the smart key control module, to the FCC ID on the remotes, to the codes printed on the actual circuit board of the remote.
From the TN thread, the 3rd Gen Tacoma and 3rd Gen Highlander share the same smart key control module as the 3rd Gen IS (TMLF12-1) and works with Lexus Smart Key 89904-53511 (17 IS Turbo/RC Turbo, 16 IS200t/RC200t, 14-15 IS250, 16-17 IS300/RC300, 14-17 IS350, 15-17 LX570/NX200t/NX300h/RC350)
From the PC thread:
* Prius models with FCC ID HYQ14AAB are compatible with Lexus Smart Key FCC ID HYQ14ABB p/n 89904-50480 (08-11 GS350/GS460, 08-10 IS F/LS460, 08-15 IS250/IS350, 08-16 LX570)
* Prius models with FCC ID HYQ14ACX are compatible with Lexus Smart Key FCC ID HYQ14AEB p/n 89994-48142 (11-17 CT200h, 10-12 HS250h, 09-12 LS600hL, 10-15 RX350/450h)
* Highlander models with FCC ID HYQ14FBA are compatible with Lexus Smart Key FCC ID HYQ14CBB p/n 89904-53521 (15-17 NX200t/NX300h)
(Disclaimer: I used lexuspartsnow.com to cross reference what models/years each Lexus p/n was compatible with - not sure how accurate that site is)
Now all of this was pretty confusing - no real rhyme or reason for why certain models were compatible with others. That was, until I came across T-SB-0033-13 and L-SB-0007-13 - Technical Service Bulletins from both Toyota and Lexus, titled "Smart Key Specifications". Here's an excerpt:
Notice how there are effectively two groupings - both use the same frequencies (312.15/314.35 MHz), but the main difference is that one uses AM and the other, FM. Cross reference the two groupings with the information laid out above (model years notwithstanding) and things start to make sense.
The TSBs are a little dated (from 2013 -
@fibber2, any chance you can check with your contacts to see if there is a more updated version?)
What doesn't make sense to me is what was stated in the PC thread about the two different Prius key fobs doesn't quite match up with the information laid out in the TSBs.
So, given the information stated in both TSBs, my theory is that the Sienna
should be compatible with any of the Lexus models that use an FM Smart Key.
Like I mentioned at the beginning - nothing too certain, but hopefully this will lead us down the right path.
FWIW, I also learned that the smart key control module for the Sienna is TMLF8-20, the FCCID of my key fob is HYQ14ADR, and the code printed on the circuit board of my key fob is 271451-5691 G N E.
That's all for tonight - once I have some more time, I'll look into a Lexus dealership with a lenient return policy and perhaps do some experimenting of my own since I have the Techstream software running on a laptop.
Hope this helps!
