My 2011 sienna transmission has 1st,2nd, and third shifting great. When its time to shift to 4,5,6 the engine revs and trans slip. I have codes p0776, p2714,p2808.
I bought and installed a rebuilt valve body with solenoids. But still has the same problem. Would you think a transmission reset would work? I did the disconnect the battery for 24hrs but still have the problem. From a stand still manual shift 4-6 will engage. just at a higher speed 4-6 will not engage.
Any ideas, anyone else have this problem?

Have you checked your fluid level is set properly?

From a stand still manual shift 4-6 will engage.
No, they won't. Manual gear selection on these automatics isn't like a manual transmission. It will only shift into the requested gear if the speed of the vehicle is within bounds set to protect the engine and transmission. If you are sitting still and select gears 4-6, it will not shift to them, it'll stay in 1st. Similarly, if you are driving and select a very low gear, it won't shift to that until you slow sufficiently, to avoid redlining the engine.

I thought I saw a thread on here where someone else had a similar problem and it turned out to be a very corroded connector going into the tranny. I'm guessing if you've done something as extensive as a valve body swap you've unplugged and checked all connections but thought I'd throw it out there.

Just a heads up. There are two sets of transmission values stored. The one your referring to are often referred to as the compensation codes; factory affixes the sticker/decal you mentioned.. The second set are called something like adaptive shift points. This data is updated and stored real time by your vehicle to do things like compensate for engine and transmission wear.

I used a Snap on Solus Ultra and the adaptive shift point reset is addressed in an entirely different section than the comp codes.

Good luck.

There are times in Jan and Feb where I too wish I were in Hawaii.......

Don't know if you've had it off, but the transmission control module is mounted to the transmission housing. On the 4 cylinder model its on the front side; not familiar with the six. It a multi pin connector, looks somewhat fragile so use some care if/when you pull it to check for moisture/corrosion. I was nervous when reattaching mine.

Good luck.

Glad to hear you got the transmission working again. Price to acquire and drop in used/rebuild is prohibitive stateside; would imagine the Hawaii premium pushes the price beyond belief.

Could give some feedback on the D7. My old Snap on Solus scanner's software only goes thru 2017. I gave up on Toyota, mainly due to the local dealerships unwillingness/inability to do any sort of vehicle repair other than pull and replace parts. Like you, my transmission began acting up 3 years and 80,000 miles ago. Dealership answers were to replace with a rebuild for $7K or junk the car. Independent shop showed me how to reset the adaptive shift points, which returned the transmission to normal. Have had to reset it once in the 3 years since.

Long story, but I bought a new manual transmission vehicle and am looking for an affordable bi-directional scanner.

So, how hard was it to find the adaptive shift point reset for the Sienna on the X7? Straightforward or hidden? Amy other pros or cons?
