Does the base 2011 have a small back up camera? I thought it was standard for all sienna's. That is where alex tap the power source for the back up camera to his new head unit. You don't need the harness.

2011 base model does not have small backup camera module but a digital clock at the same place. I doubt there is reverse line connected to the clock because I check the harness different from alex's.

For 2015 Sienna non LTD, the wiring for the turn signals are different. It is brown and yellow for turn signal on the top right and for parking light, it is the bottom left - green wire. A million thanks to pigpork for his contribution on finding the parking light wire. ALWAYS double check with a light tester. My probe was so thick that it cannot go in deep to make contact with the parking light wire terminal and had to grind it to make it thinner. Enjoy.

Does anyone know the wiring for a 2016 SE? I'm looking at getting the MIT lights/covers. I've used their turn signals on my 2012 Prius and was happy with the quality.
It's the same.

I have a 2011 Limited with the chevron (?) blinker on the mirror glass. I don't like it. Just wonder if anyone replaced them with the newer Limited mirror housings with built-in blinkers. If so, are the harnesses same on both 2011 and newer Limited (i.e. plug-and-play). Thanks.

I doubt if the harness is the same since your current turn signals plug into the mirror glass and the newer ones like I have on my 2014 Limited are separate modules that attach to the mirror housing ... but they might be.

If the harnesses are not the same, at worst all you would have to do is to tap into the wires leading to the mirror glass and route them to the new turn signal modules. Disconnect (clip if necessary) the signal wires from the mirror glass if you don't want to retain the signals in the glass. If the connectors for the turn signals in the mirror glass won't plug into the newer turn signals, at worst you would have to do a bit of fabrication - maybe with small lengths of insulated wire and connectors from a hardware store.

I see you have a Scion IQ that comes with turn signals in the mirror covers. We have a Prius v wagon that did not come with mirror turn signals. I bought a set of Scion IQ mirror covers and turn signal modules at a discount price from Carson Toyota in California and installed them on our Prius v. It was a lot more work than it will be for you since there were no turn signal wires in the Prius v mirrors so I had to fabricate and run wire harnesses from the Scion IQ mirror signals to connections in the kick panels.

Yours should be a "piece of cake" by comparison. All you need is a set of OEM mirror covers and turn signals from a newer Sienna. Some people like the aftermarket ones from "MIT" (stands for "Made in Taiwan") but I think you are better off with OEM parts since there will be a perfect paint match and you can easily get a replacement if needed.

If you need to fabricate a connection to the new turn signal modules, you can probably find what you need at a hardware store. I used spade connectors from the hardware store when I installed the Scion signals on our Prius rather than trying to buy the correct OEM connectors and it has worked fine for four years. I used machine screws from the hardware store to attach the Scion IQ turn signal modules to the mirror frame - not sure how it will be on your Sienna but you should be able to figure it out.

I posted the part numbers you need in a previous post. You can probably find them by searching for posts from my member name that include the word "mirror", "signals", etc.

This project is probably a "3" on a "1 to 10" scale of difficulty.

i re-read the first few posts and it seems to me that my 2011 housing "gut" already has a space to accommodate/screw-in the rectangular blinker so all i really need is the blinker part AND a mirror cover with the cutout so the blinker could fit through. Is that correct? I am really surprised because I thought only 2016+ Limited have the blinkers on the mirror covers so therefore only 2016+ models have the "spacing" in the housing "gut" to accommodate the light housing. 2011-2015 Limited have the chevron blinker on the mirror glass.

Just want to make sure before I take the mirror apart since I am not too much of a DIY guy :(. Thanks

You'll be a "DIY guy" after this project. The best way to learn is to just dive it.

2013 appears to be the first model year that the Sienna Limited had turn signals "in" the body color mirror covers instead of in the mirror glass. Google 2012 and 2013 Sienna Limited and look at the images to see the difference between the two model years.

Assuming that your mirror frames have screw holes for the front/side facing turn signals, all you need are the parts you mentioned. If you want to verify that your mirror frame has the screw holes, I think you will have to pop off the mirror covers and look. If it's like our Prius v and other Toyota/Lexus vehicles I've messed with, you'll have to remove the mirror glasses in order to access the tabs on the mirror covers that hold the covers in place - tabs that you will "release" with a small blade screw driver.

I don't know if removing the mirror glass is different than on other Toyota/Lexus. On my last Lexus, using a shop towel was specified for extracting the mirror glass. On our Prius v, I used a very small blade screwdriver to release each of the four prongs that holds the mirror glass in place. I electrically rotated the mirror glass left/right/up/down to provide room to slip the screwdriver between the mirror glass edge and the mirror housing so I could use the screwdriver tip to depress the tab on each prong. Maybe there are better instructions on this forum or on YouTube.

Here's a pretty good thread on this subject: http://www.siennachat.com/forum/69-mods-projects/9709-led-turn-signal-mirror-upgrade.html
The person who started this thread apparently removed the old mirror covers without removing the mirror glass but I assume you will have to remove your mirror glass if only to access the turn signal wires.

I have not personally done a 2011 model but did a 13 and 15 models. I am assuming that they have the same housing. To be sure it works, you just have to remove the covers. The covers are available and could be under pigporks original post. You can buy OEM turn signal mirrors or MIT's. You can tap your LED turn signal lights from your chevron's blinkers and don't have to worry about making a custom wiring for it. So I would suggest that you buy the OEM led turn signals if you don't have to do any additional work to it. First time is always hard but not that hard. Just follow the instructions on how to take the mirror housing apart.

Here's the picture of the mirror housing inside. Notice that there is a shield like formation on the top and the sides of the back of the mirror glass. This covers the motor plate mount when the 2 are reinstalled or snapped together. Look at the lower 2 tabs at the back of the mirror glass. These hooks to the bottom of the motor mount plate. So inserting a screw driver through the bottom and prying it from there will break the lower 2 tabs. Now look carefully at the top 2 tabs at the back of the mirror glass - the horse shoe shaped tabs but flares outside. This inserts to the 2 square holes on the top ends of the motor plate mount. These tabs are the ones the hold the mirror glass to the motor plate mount when it snaps back. Hopefully this clears things out. This is my 5th time to pull out the mirror glass from the motor plate mount with no problems or breaking of the tabs doing the same method.

Same as what was posted in post #13 instruction #4 Figure 3.

Did anyone here get the painted mirror covers from MIT? I noticed that there's a combo package on ebay where they will paint the covers for you for an extra $20, which seems like a bargain compared to the OEM mirror covers, but I'm not sure about the quality of the paint.

It wasn't clearly spelled out on the other turn signal mirror thread, but can anyone point me to where they purchased the white mirror covers for this project? I've tried three different US vendors who have basically said that it's not a US part number and Toyota won't release it to them. It was indicated that it was a Canadian part number, so I tried contacting a Vancouver Toyota dealership and they said that it wasn't Canadian either and would need to be shipped from Japan. How did people get these? Now I kinda wish I had experimented with the MIT painted ones.

Get the OEM ones. The mirror covers stated in the link are OEM mirror covers found in post #1. What is the color of your sienna? Here's the link. http://www.siennachat.com/forum/69-mods-projects/9709-led-turn-signal-mirror-upgrade.html

I have 040, Super White. I tried ordering part numbers:
87915-08030-A0(white 040)
87945-08030-A0
as listed in the previous post.

Here are the various things I've tried:
Online order with Elmore TRD Toyota Parts, they responded that, "Unfortunately, these mirror covers aren't showing valid for a U.S. use vehicle" and that they were not available for order in the US.
Online order with Santa Margarita Toyota, their response was, "You might be able to find it on ebay, it's not something Toyota will sell to me."
A phone call to Olathe Toyota and they responded that this was not USDM part number and as such, Toyota's distribution network will not ship it to the US.
Because there was some discussion that the part numbers for super/alpine white were Canadian, I then tried placing a parts inquiry to a Vancouver Toyota dealership in Burnaby and they gave me this:
"87915-08030-A0 $73.12
87945-08030-A0 $73.12
THESE PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE IN CANADA. IF I ORDERED THEM THEY WOULD BE COMING FROM JAPAN. 3-4 WEEKS."

So yeah, I've tried ordering OEM ones. Maybe the blackout on shipment to the US is a new thing, or did people here order from someplace special?

OK. We have the same color. Replaced my set of mirrors twice. What I did was to order it one at time so it is not obvious you are replacing both. Ordered mine online without talking to a rep. Don't put any info of your vehicle. Well, tried doing it online and they no longer have the part. Best bet is to contact member pigpork and see if he can get you the right part numbers. The canadian color is "Alpine White" (super white for US) for the limited model in canada. Looks like they may have changed the part number. I had mine replaced in 2013 and 2015. You may want to check the MIT model then. Good luck.
