My sales guy in MB tells me LE FWD will likely have the shortest wait, and he expects a year wait. They have seen more Sienna's this year compared to all of last. I have one on wait, but my expectation is 18months unless I luck out with a cancellation.

Perhaps a combo of rising interest rates / increasing inventory will get waits under 1 year..

But I take it all with a grain of salt!
Follow up, I visited a (very)small rural Toyota dealership at the start of April, let them know I was interested in a Sienna, they took my contact information. Few weeks ago they called me back, a buyer backed on one they had ordered. I pulled the trigger and bought it. Gray XLE FWD, paid MRSP/same price as on toyota.ca.

Wait time 6 weeks!

So far it has been great!

I think the all wheel drives are much more popular in Canada. My guess is that worked in your favour. I have been on the list for an LE AWD for almost a year now. They said I should get it sometime this year.

We bought our first Sienna at the end of June 2021 and received it late September 2021. In February 2022 we ordered another and picked it up yesterday. Close to two months ago we knew what day it would land in our city and it came one day early.

Noticed a few minor changes. Quicker rear hatch motor lift. The rear hatch itself sits more into the vehicle. What I mean by that is the rear 1/4's used to line up with the hatch, now on the 2024 the hatch sits about 3/8" inside. Seems to have different bearings or rollers (whatever that is called) on the power doors. As I explained to my wife each year Toyota improves minor details so this is a good thing!

At the end of the day it's our fourth Toyota and we know more will be purchased.

You pretty much have the same story as me. We ordered a 21 XLE AWD in December of 2020, and received it in March. I then ordered a XSE AWD in May 2022, and received it in March of this year. I wasn't home 5 minutes and noticed the big difference in the rear hatch speed. Its much quicker now

A bit late but thought I would share my experiences nonetheless.
Put a $1k deposit down Sept 2021 for an 8pass LE AWD. Was told it would be 5-8 months at the time.
Agreed to purchase a XSE /w tech AWD two years later, Sept 2023.
Things I learned from the experience:
  • dealerships like money, the more they get the better your "position in line" will be wink.
  • Leasing will improve your priority. Cash is the worst option.
  • Trading in a car, the more in demand the better. This will drastically improve your "luck".
  • Accepting a lease "upgrade/extension" 1-3 years into a lease also appears to be common practice now.
  • putting your name down on as many wait lists as possible helps, if you can afford the deposit. Might be wise to avoid going to dealerships under a common owner. Ensure the contract allows for you to cancel just to be sure.
  • paying more than new to purchase a 1-2 year lease back, or a "cancelled" order with 20 useless upgrades also are occasionally possible.

GOOD LUCK!

I found my dealer excellent to work with on these points. They kept me updated on timing along the way. I got exactly what I asked for. Paid cash, with no pressure or requirement to lease/finance and no impact on pricing (no markup). No trade-in. I was only on one dealer's wait list.

from my earlier post in the Canadian Siennas forum...
"The dealer here (Festing Toyota in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada) was great to deal with. Our salesperson, Mellissa Whitmell, was open with us from the beginning about timelines and kept us updated along the way. Brett Bullen, the finance manager was great to deal with – he explained everything but did not pressure us at all to get anything we didn’t want. They were both great to deal with and the overall buying experience was probably the best I have had."

Which dealer if you don’t mind me asking
Festing Toyota in Huntsville, Ontario. Salesperson was Mellissa Whitmell. Very happy with my dealings on this purchase. No pressure to get anything I didn't want, no pressure on how to pay, and got periodic updates as I waited.

the wait time is really ridicules
I was surprised when I was told 2-3 years in the beginning. I knew there was a fair wait, and was hoping to get one in spring of 2024, so for me it wasn't that far off what I wanted anyway. Had it actually gone closer to 3 years it may have been more of an issue. Still is a little ridiculous to have to wait that long. Hopefully for others it is getting shorter.

2025 models and prices are up on toyota.ca. Looks like memory seat is now standard starting with XLE (based on the interior shots), prices went up $2k compared 2024. There’s an all black version for softex and leather replacing the beige colour

Put in a order for xse AWD Tech package in May 2022bat Sherwood Park toyota. Was told for 12-18 months wait time. As of today, 33 months later, still no confirmation on when a vehicle will be available. A Side story, was offered a xse AWD ( no package), in 2024 December, stating that it will arrived at the end of January. I decided to take it and trade for a tech pack when it comes. Doen trade in estimation, and picked accessories , everything is done and the sales manager said will transfer the file to finance. No one contact me at all, and I called the dealership, all I was told is the vehicle that agreed to is gone.

You need to call Toyota Canada customer service and have a discussion. They can confirm if you're truly on a vehicle order. Seems very fishy but yes it it's a long time.

We traded our 21 for our 24 in May 2024. Ordered the 24 February 2022. There are different zones but 33 seems really long?

Winnipeg dealer saying this is in stock. They are showing others as factory order. Not sure if true?

Ordered mine LE AWD 8 seats in November 2023. Just picked up the car in the 3rd week of August 2025.
Wow, almost 2 years?
Do you mind saying what province and city?
I'm in Ontario and I just placed an order last month on one. I was told about 4 months by 2 different dealers. One in Hamilton, one in Cambridge.
I ordered a pretty plain one. LE FWD. I was told that AWD is a longer wait yes, but should be like 8 or 10 months, not 2 years.
I will post back if I do in fact get what I ordered on time.

I am near the YYZ airport.
Apparently, Toyota has improved the production output for the Sienna starting this year. I hope your wait time should not be as long as mine!
The used market of the 4th generation of Sienna showed sign of cooling down in early summer also!
